I can remember her saying that people thought she was Shereen's wee sister Laughing
She has always seemed very down to earth and has something that many do not have at Tullos - a bubbly personality!

Yes, totally agree. Both are incredibly down to earth and have immense connectivity with the viewer.

many viewers class Andrea as a 'much loved' presenter from Brechin. She just happened to get her break at Scottish Television

Well said Chris.Cool I loved watching Andrea when she was on Scotland Today and she was always a joy, a laugh and a pleasure to watch every time! I'd probably never get tired of seeing her. Very Happy How is she getting on up there these days? She's another one that I miss. Sad

Laura (with new username).

Me too........I think she is a breath of fresh air. She fits in well at NT and seems very down to earth unlike some of the others on NT!!

She would have been great alongside John Duncanson (anyone know what he is up to these days?). Talking of Chris Harvey.....where is he????

I see that Chris was on NT last night and introduced as their entertainment correspondent........Is this a new role for him at Grampian or has he this job on both stations??

Scottish (central) is leading off on an Aberdeen story again - wrong region. Bet you the former Grampian is showing the exact same thing, possibly with a teuchter (only kidding Razz ) reporter voicing it over.

Very weird mistake for the opt-out as well. They did the ITV News outsting, then went to STV, then played the sting again, and black screen and back to STV. How did that happen? Surely the clean feed shouldn't play the logo again.

Edit: nothing local tonight then - a story about MRSA in Staffordshire. Eh?

Why can STV never get the headline opt-out right? Everytime they do it on the 10.30pm you hear half the swoosh, silence, then the swoosh again.

It never used to be like that.

From next year stv will be bringing you even better news programmes.

In January (8th) we launch our split news services. Viewers in the west and the east of central Scotland will each get a different edition of Scotland Today reporting on what is happening in the communities. In the west we will cover from Tobermory to Falkirk. While the east Scotland Today will be reporting from Anstruther to Dunbar.

Viewers of North Tonight will also notice a change - those in the Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and north-east Fife area will get a dedicated bulletin within the main North Tonight programme with all their local stories. And whilst they are watching that, viewers further north will see stories from the north-east, Highlands and Islands more of the news that matters to them.

And regardless of where you are you can keep up to date with the news across the country at stv.tv/news.

When it comes to TV news, you cannot get more local.

My god!!

How dull are those promos the scottish tv one perpetuating the hatred between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Whilst the Grampian one Shocked it was so boring that I thought I was on the point of comatosed.

The ITV Tyne Tees 'Closer to home' campaign is far better.

Very dull indeed.

Actually I thought it was pretty funny - entertaining even! Although I didn't think it was too Glasgow Edinburgh - correct me if I'm wrong but Rabbie Burns is from Ayrshire?! So if it was Stephen and Heather does that mean they're the main people doing it?

I liked it as well. Just a bit of fun. I do hope Heather stays in the West, as I really like her as a newsreader. John and Heather for the West, and Stephen and Louise for the East, I hope...

Presumably these 'more local' Scotland Today's will still both be broadcast from Glasgow.

I don't think so. A while ago, I think it was Gavin Scott, said stv were fitting their Edinburgh newsroom for the new service. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please. Smile

I thought they had a studio in edinburgh?! They do lives with reporters and interviewees from there. I hope John and Heather are in the west too! I wonder how much of the programme it will take up.
