Does anyone else think the weather forecast should be included in the weekend bulletins, instead of coming after it?
I think it would just look neater. They have managed to finally incorporate it into the main news at 6...

And it looks so much better without the UV forecast. God knows why that wasn't incorporated...

Have you got a pic of what was on the monitor Garry? Confused When I click on the link, it comes up just as the ST website.

When I click on that, it's the old ST website, with the newish stv.tv top banner.

Stephen Jardine was fronting the lunchtime bulletin today.
Does that mean there is a chance of him anchoring the main news at 6? Confused

EDIT: Looks like John will be here at 6...

EDIT: (25/08/06) Stephen is anchoring tonight...

Anyone know the name of the STV newsreader who was on yesterday afternoon - she was *ahem* very impressive. Embarassed I think she used to be on XFM Scotland.

Have to say, I reckon the cutbacks have almost had an energising effect on Scotland Today. There's a lot of enthuastic young presenters coming through who just look delighted to be there. A massive problem with journalism in general (not that I'm suggesting it is or was the case at STV) is a lot of jaded old hacks who are clearly fed up with their jobs doing the same thing for 30 years. STV's approach, while fuelled by costcutting, is actually having a good side effect.

I met her while at Xfm Scotland earlier in the year - nice girl. I knew I recognised her face on the programme yesterday but couldn't quite remember where from.

That's the one - I figured I knew that voice from somewhere.

I really like her - you can spot enthusiasm a mile away and she seems to have it. Plus as pointed out she has a modern look about her. Any reason why, with a bit more experience under her belt, she couldn't be a main presenter on the 6pm edition sometime in the future?

As well as being a perfectly good newsreader, she could be ideal for trying to pick up a younger audience.

Debi Edward is the secondary newsreader on the main edition tonight. Shocked
She's doing quite well.

Quick question: Did Scotland This Week have the new look on Sunday?
Is it still here?

It was axed last December. The reason was probably because there were few avid viewers at 4.30a.m. like yourself. Laughing

No.
Its shown on sunday after the weekend teatime bulletin.
Or at least, it was up until 3 weeks ago - and it had the ST corporate titles.
