OK. You've won me over! Maybe she could do well in London. I've never doubted her ability - just whether or not she would suit the unfriendly, slightly odd style that tends to come out of London. My theory comes from the fact that Shereen tends to adopt the American style of presenting - authority and style but friendly too.
Did anyone see Sarah's last time newsreading on ST?
She just said it's been a great 6 years working with people like John, Shereen and Jane. She also said she may be back.
Didn't see it but a friend told me about it. Well done to her. There seemed to be a lot of subconscious message in there. For a start the 'I'll be back' statement (possibly reference to the fact the only good thing that could come out of an ITV takeover will be that Shereen and co. would possibly return as Bobby Hain would go! Also saying goodbye to John then making reference to 'Shereen and Jane'. Notice no reference to anyone else!

I would not read too much into that folks.
I always felt that Grant, Mike Edwards and other reporters got on well with her. I think that she just focussed on her co-presenters as she worked with them closer on setting the agenda etc. If Sarah is heading to London to live with her husband who has a business there - I'd think she'd be a London-based presenter.
However, I'd be VERY interested in Scotland Today ratings once Shereen and Jane leave. If they plummet - Bobby Hain's jacket must be on a shugally nail! In saying that he may wave the axe at more news resources - that seems to be the school of thought nowadays!!

What I meant was that she seemed to pick them intentionally as if to make a point of the presenters joining her in leaving. Because she didn't make reference to Louise, Stephen or Raman!
Forgot to mention another story that must have been VERY difficult for Sarah to read out. Last week SMG announced EXCELLENT profits, which outperformed the rest of the ITV group. Sarah had to announce it on-air and mention the fact that the station was doing better now than it has for a number of years!

Is it just me or do the 'Scotland Today' in the titles look slightly weird? The title sequence is great (except the squares which were axed by ITV a few days after) but the logo at the end doesn't look quite right.
Hard to explain.

It is because the old logo and lettering was just pasted onto a new background....and if you subscribe to the scotland today newsletter it is still purple with thold logo! doesn't north tonight also have the same lettering style on a new background?
