I was watching ST tonight. Does anyone else wish they'd change the script a bit?
I am a bit sick of:
"Now lets take a look at other news happening in Scotland Today"
"Here's Raman with a quick preview of tonights sport"
It's as if every day they come in, get yesterdays script and cut and paste all the wee bits of that days news in between the 10 or so soundbites they use day in day out..... gets a bit dull after a while, not thats its any worse than smarmy David and sour puss Jackie on the other channel mind you.

The Scotland edition of telly listings magazines must have always looked odd:
6:00pm
Scottish Scotland Today
Grampian North Tonight
6:30
ITV Evening News
(or whatever)
Two programmes both on at 6pm, but one using the word "to day " and the other using "to night "
Surely the title "Scotland Tonight" should have been introduced a long time ago???
Especially now that the "Grampian News" name has been dropped - if the north now has "North Today/Tonight", then it seems to make sense to have a consistent policy across the two regions by also having "Scotland Today/Tonight", doesn't it?
It's like when the three different "Central News" sub-regions had different policies on whether to include the "...at Six" part of the title on the 6pm edition or not. That period drove me mad. Consistency, please!
And, after all, the vast majority of ITV/channel 3 regions have an "evening variation" of the regional news title, whether it be for strictly the 6pm weekday edition only, or all evening bulletins. Central Scotland and Northern Ireland are the only current exceptions, aren't they?

Actually, that makes a lot of sense.
Apart from the "life support machine" way in which the Scottish TV and Grampian TV channel names have limped on until now, the area has been virtually one region with two news sub-regions for several years now. So, uniting all news sub-regions under one name seems a logical next step at some point.
After all, there's (for example) three different news services all called Meridian News, and ditto for Central News, so why not four "Scotland Todays?

Perhaps Scotland Today is not changing its name because the split regions will bring about further change.
Some even think that North Today and North Tonight will be ditched for Scotland Today in all four sub-regions.

I think this was mentioned in another thread.
This is not innovative nor does it reflect modern Scotland by any means of the imagination - quite the opposite.
However, I am willing to wait until I see it all in full flow from Tuesday before commenting any further.

Well from the previews on the Scotland Today site, it features different locations of Scotland (I seen the Museum of Modern Art in Edinburgh for example).
I don't know why all logos have to "reflect" places.
