Lasts night Scotland Today was really weird from me!

Sarah, Shereen and Jane where presenting and they are the ones that are leaving!

Claire Dean, Becky Hunter, Alun Saunby, Iona Scott and Roddy Scott are all off too!

I've noticed this too. They really do seem to be 'using' the outgoing presenters and reporters loads. They're probably trying to get the most of them before they're forced to use second-rate amateurs. If you think about it there really aren't any decent presenters left there other than John Mackay - who I believe will eventually walk. I'm not including Louise White because, even though I believe she has a good presence, she's only part time so can't really be Shereen's replacement. Poor old Scottish. For the first time ever, I think it would be in a better state with ITV in charge. At least ITV doesn't force out it's big name local presenters and does continuity LIVE with proper on-air branding. One man is to blame for all of this - Bobby Hain. Upon arrival, he oversaw the complete destruction of SMG's TV operations. Next question - how long before Taggart is stopped because it's costly to make drama? It will happen, despite ITV paying for it and it being sold to TV stations as far away as New Zealand and Afghanistan!

Oh no, that's not going to happen any time soon - I've heard that they can't churn them out fast enough.

(Having said that, they'll probably do something stupid now like sell off SMG TV Productions for some ready cash...)

Becky Hunter's hubbie, Matt Bingham, is also leaving.

I would laugh in a way if all this excitement about the new look BBC national line up would inlude someone like Shereen or Sarah! Both women will hopefully remain in broadcasting!

Imagine the BBC Six o'Clock News with Shereen Nanjiani; I would find that pretty smart Very Happy - yet highly unlikely Sad

its such a shame that Scotland Today is losing 3 great presenters. They all have brought different things to the news output. Shereen is an institution and will be sorely missed- but hopefully we won't have seen the last of her. Sarah, who was given a really hard time at the beginning has proved herself and all this snobbery about not being a journo is rubbish. After all 6wks at college will get you that. She looks great, she sounds great , and I am told really easy to work with and no doubt will turn up on a network programme sooner or later . The way the industry is going means multi skilling and judging by the amount of different programmes she does, she'll be in demand. And wee Jane - a great lass - good luck to her and them all. Crying or Very sad

Can someone over in Scotland keep yer eyes peeled, so that we can grab some caps of the last and final bulletin and farewell to be presented by the great one, below? Any idea when her last bulletin is anyway?

Ten years ago today that the awful Dunblane tragedy took place. Other than the Lockerbie disaster, it is the single most event that I can recall Miss Shereen Nanjiani anchoring superbly, with a very credible gravitas, finely balanced with the correct levels of sensitivity, which the story called for.

A really terrible tragedy. And one that we all hope the likes of which is never repeated.

STV (as it is now to be called......again) will miss the likes of Ms. Shereen Nanjiani to handle major news stories, and there is no one else currently in the ST newsroom (not even Messrs McKay and Jardine) who could do it justice, whilst maintaining that incredible connectivity that Miss Nanjiani has with the viewer.

Whatever are you thinking, SMG?

Yes Shereen will be deeply missed - she IS Scotland Today. The programme will never be the same without her. Is it highly likely she will be eventually poached by Reporting Scotland?

Speaking of Dunblane, why is the documentary on the shootings only shown on BBC One Scotland rather than network? Surely it was big enough for the network to get it?

Sadly, I doubt Shereen would switch channels. I think that she'll ditch TV News altogether. Her comments were based along the lines of leaving - as she was unhappy with Scotland's media landscape! That is what was said by both PA and The Scotsman.
I would like to see her on any channel - but I think when she says goodnight on Scotland Today - it'll be last time we see her do a news programme!
Sarah Heaney's future seems brighter, but she is a mere beginner!
