I only started watching Scotland Today when i got SKY at the end of last year.I'm in the Border region .I watched tonight and i must say i felt very quite tearful myself at Shereen's sign off. I hope she goes onto bigger and better things i realy like her she just seems so normal. Here in Border land Lookaround is the worst news programme it is just so bad.
And its because no presenter has a real link with one another and there is a horrible mish mash of accents - I accept border is scottish and english but there are so many varying dialects being spoke its sometimes hard to keep up.There is also absoloutely NO banter.

It's not that bad. Well it is certainly a popular news programme in terms of viewership, and it is an institution in the region. I don't think accents and banter are an issue. It's a news programme, not an entertainment show Rolling Eyes

I was sitting round in my mate's flat, not particularly watching the programme, but everyone sat forward to listen to Shereen's goodbye.

Cheerio Shereen.

Farewell Shereen! It's been a pleasure watching you every night, both you, John and Jane were the cream of the crop on Scotland Today - and you will be missed dearly by all of us.

I have all the signed photos that you, John and Jane sent me right here beside me. They will be treasured and trophied always by me. John's right - you ARE an institution, one that cannot be replaced.

All the very best for future great one - whatever you do, please take care!! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

No, not really FG. Now that Shereen has left - Scotland Today will definitely never ever be the same again! Guaranteed! You have to excuse those who may go slightly ott, but that is what is known as PASSION! Shocked Embarassed

Know what I mean? Confused

It will be a testing time, although, I am sure that John will keep the flag flying. I am surprised that those with capturing facilities have not posted some images of the final report. Shereen's hair may have changed through the years..yet she has remained grounded.
A truely lovely lassie!!!

It sure will be AMF. Confused I'm sure John's up to the challenge, he can do just about anything. Wink Although, deep down I'm also sure that he'll miss Shereen, Sarah and Jane dearly. Sad

Shereen leaving defo got publicity. The radio stations and newspapers all mentioned it. Edinburgh's Talk 107 spoke live to her after her final show and during the day they featured Scotland Today themes from over Shereen's years! But a source from inside SMG has told me she's making a showreel so I reckon it won't be long before she's back on tv

Hmmm - I wonder what that's going to be about? Confused It'll be interesting, we'll have to watch this space to find out. Smile
