OMG!
You'll never guess what I've just heard - Jane's signed up to Celtic TV next season!
I've posted a message on the Rangers/Celtic boards on bbc.co.uk to see if anyone can give me a link to the article. I'll then be convinced, as far as evidence is concerned - they could be talking mince.

Jane is a Motherwell fan, and I'm also wondering if anyone on here bought a paper the day and saw the article? What paper was it in, and any links to it?
Many thanks in advance.

I might just renew my Celtic season ticket after all, then...........
Shereen Nanjiani - to the viewers of Scotland (STV region at least), Shereen's departure will be highly more significant than even that of Trevor McDonald's from ITN. Due to the parochial nature of STV and the viewing community in Scotland, events based south of the border rarely raise an eyebrow.
However, when it is one of "oor ain", the feeling is palpable. Marke my words - people all across the nation will be tuned in to see Shereen's farewell. And, in view of the fact it is a Friday evening, the traditional Friday night drinkers after work will be in Glasgow's pubs, also watching her final bulletin (perhaps without sound, though) as they sip their Tennents. The lady is probably the most well-known face on Scottish television channels today.
What I have just written will sound terribly naff to the majority of correspondents on this forum, but Nanjiani fans will know exactly what I mean.
I hope someone can tape dvd it for me and send it over. It is actually one news programme edition that I will be sorry to miss.

I won't overstate it quite so much (
), but you are absolutely right to say that just about anyone in the central belt (the majority of the population) would know Shereen's name on seeing her face.
I'll miss her too.
I think you can watch the programme via the scottish.tv website James, so you can join in with the cheerios.

You can watch the lunchtime bulletin on the website Gav
, but you would have thought that because today was Jane's last day - they would have put the teatime bulletin up online too.

I appreciate that. What i'm saying is in the other two ITV regions in Scotland most of the viewers have not heard of Shereen Nanjiani.I don't like Border TV or Lookaround the news programme and i enjoy watching Scotland Today on SKY.
