and doesn't jackies hat just match everything shye is wearing!

The hat is NOT a good look Jackie. I noticed that she wasn't wearing it during the brief opt out at the beginning of the Six but then it appeared at 6.30. Her hair was either getting in the way or she was getting a cold heid!

Simply the best as usual sums ST's coverage! It's a big surprise to see Jackie there though I must admit!

ITV News' however was awful - there was no need to send someone up to cover the story. A link up to either John or David would have been much easier don't u think?

I must say it does frustrate me when people ask what's the need to host a show from the scene. Many of you would be the first to criticise ITV, etc if they 'didn't bother to get off their arses in cosy London and get out to the story'. Be honest now - you know you would!!

But that's not what I wish to discuss this evening

I've noticed something with STV's news. I'm getting the impression that John Mackay is very much being hyped up as the news outfit's main anchor. I'm thinking that the new look Scotland Today will be solo-anchored when it relaunches. This complies with everything that I've been hearing because I understand that Steven Jardine is to be the face of the East of Scotland bulletins. So what do you think - STV News with John MacKay (west) and STV News with Steven Jardine (East)

Well John or David would have to paid. By ITV.

Both don't work for ITV.

Won't work - I know it won't. They'll no doubt spend most of the bulletin ,with having BOTH of them simultaenously, transmitting news stories for each end of the region.

Once that's done, they'll have to come back together exactly on time and on cue for (how long does Jane usually have for the Sportsdesk? Say 8mins or so?) 8-10mins, for the Sportsdesk (whoever takes over after Jane leaves).

Once that's out the way, they'll have to split up again for the microregional round-up!

Crazy or what?
