I am glad that the Metropolitan Police are operating ZERO TOLERANCE in London and I hope it gives out the correct message that the Police are doing a great job for OUR safety.

I think that it is crazy for anyone to assume anything other than the police shot to kill because they genuinely believed the man was a suicide bomber. But as Marcus says, we should wait until the enquiry rather than speculate about what happened in Stockwell on Friday.
With regards to the TV presentation, I've been away for the last few days, what sort of terrestrial coverage did we have? How long was the N24/BBC One simulcast? Did Sky News broadcast on Five?

We do know the bald facts. The guy came out of a street that was under survaillance. He was then tracked and confronted at Stockwell station (apparently at gun point - don't know if this has been confirmed), he then ran into station and onto train. He was then shot in the head (apparently five times - don't know if this has been confirmed).
If these facts stay broadly the same it is very worrying. Who knows how we may react when confronted with a gun, I might well have done the same thing, especially if the police officer was in plain clothing. Now before I criticise too much, I obviously don't know how these bombs work but I would have thought that if they were on top of the man (as eyewitnesses reports indicate) then they might have handcuffed him and checked underneath his top (maybe this would be impracticable, to be honest, I don't know, just an uneducated assumption)
This is coupled with the man outside Downing Street , who was carrying a rucksack and had guns pointed at him because he was said to be acting "suspiciously", then they later said that he had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks.
I didn't much care for the police's statement that it was "regrettable". They just brutally (in good faith or not) killed a man and all they can say it is "regrettable".
And one analysist I was watching on a news channel yesterday, I think it was Sky, said that the police officer who shot the man would need intense counselling. HE would need counselling!!! I'm sorry but what about the family and friends of the guy who was actually shot!

Though as well as it being hilarious that such a stupid thing should be uttered by a human being (I'm being kind), it's also deeply sad that a person with such a viewpoint should have the problem that he obviously has. Poor thing. Perhaps someone should shoot him to put him out of his misery?

I was talking about this issue at SCHOOL with my teacher and friends, and we all had the same views, the coppers who shot this man are most likely going to get away with it, why because they are police. My history teacher who is a very wise man, called it Murder and he found it apalling to watch on the news what had happend and that they got the wrong person.
So stop looking at me as if im the only one that feels this way, because i'm not, i bet you there are lots of others on this forum who feel the same, but don't want to say it. Im only here to discuss television. and if my post offended some people then I apologise, but I was just saying what I felt.

Ahhhhh I do understand! I take a media studies class at school that involves issues that affect the world thanks and I do very well in it. and understand lots of issues from around the world and have my own views on things such as this. IM not a child.
