I might be wrong - but isn't this a smaller version of the 'Election Centre' the BBC have built this time? I'm sure in 2015 the second floor with the interview area was much higher. This time the interview area looks to just be above floor level?

What are you going on about? "Harking back" to 1997? You haven't even seen what they've got planned yet - so why don't you reserve that sort of judgement until tomorrow night? All I can say is that they are using both their VR set up in Studio 1 as the main base for the night as well as a set in the atrium for other presentation elements.

Harking back to 1997 and 2001 then ITV News. Maybe they should have ditched their virtual set and like 1997/2001 build a real one in the atrium and use the virtual set for election graphics.

A proper close to the bulletin too (think they did that 2 years ago as well).
Huw Edwards presents the News at Ten bulletin from the BBC Election Centre. Looks good.

I'd hope so considering they used it last time.

I don't necessarily think they're mobile phone cameras, but may be connected over 4G? The way Sky manages to be at so many seats is that at a fair few it recruits people (usually media students etc) to man a camera for them on election night - they're given all the kit to use and paid for their time and then are responsible for just manning that camera at the count for the night.

A one night intern then
I cant imagine the dirty digger shelling out too much on proper staff - rather a few quid to media students hoping to put it on the CV.
