A couple of pics from the BBC Scotland election set with a giant screen and rather interesting testcard. Cool

Nothing particularly interesting about the test card, it's just a centre cut out of the standard HD one.

I'd say the fiasco that was last night's debate may well mean we will not see another national 'leaders' debate for some time. Serious questions need to be asked of the BBC, from the audience selection through to the appalling moderation from Mishal Husain. It goes to prove ITV were correct to have their debate in the more 'secure' surroundings of Media City. The sight of the participants being jeered and cheered as they arrived, a la gladiators entering the Coliseum, was not a good reflection of British politics today. It was more akin to a Trump rally in the Deep South Bible Belt.

7 parties, with only 2 on the right of politics, and only one hateful and racist. Not hard to see why Labour got cheers, and the Tories were laughed at. That is the point of being balanced.

If it were just Tory and Labour, it would have been different. The audience was balanced for the parties who were there

An audience balanced for the parties present is any thing but balanced, just because the left are split doesn't mean they should have a higher percentage of the audience (and the SNP/Plaid/Greens should have to take it in turns on 1 podium as they are basically the same party).

There's no reason for the Tories to take part in future 'debates' if they escape this one largely unscathed (as I expect them to do so). The sight of the baying crowd (of Momentum members) outside the venue was unedifying at best, and dangerous at worse. Ofcom and/or the Electoral Commission need to put in place strict rules around these debates. I'd go as far as to say the US Presidential debates last year were better behaved and a fairer reflection of democracy than that farce last night.

Except that's untrue; ComRes did a split based on being representative of the country demographically and politcally.

It seemed like the Labour supporters in the crowd were fully into the pantomime style cheers and boos - conventional wisdom states that it will have little bearing on how the polls react and no bearing on the result.

Thought it was 50% 50% on Leave and Remain. Voting intentions for each of the party. People who are undecided. As well as geographic representation.

All of that should add up to a more left wing audience, as the majority of parties are to the left. I may have this wrong, in which case the explanation for the perception of Labour bias, is entirely down to the enthusiasm of a fair bunch of Corbyn supporters, who chose to vocalise where others didn't.

Going to call it now - you buy the Daily Mail. Sadly cheering and jeering reflects the way the Tories have tried to run this campaign based on May = Good, Corbyn = Bad. What they didn't count upon is the public taking notice of the details and seei g for themselves that Corbyn is a man of integrity and May being a "bloody difficult woman" isn't neccessarily the quality we want in a PM acting as our lead negotiator.
