In 2015 the recycled their 2010 set with little tweaks. David Dimbleby mentioned it before the election night, that it had been spruced up and cleaned. Maybe this will be the template for their election sets

2015 was the first election night to not come from Television Centre. So, this is just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were more focused on getting things right in the new location than building a new set.

I remember reading it was a lot of work to get the same number of telephone lines / circuits to Elstree that TVC once had for an Election.

BBC Scotland will be presenting from the presentation area at Pacific Quay (where Huw Edwards anchored the rUK coverage of the Independence Referendum results from).

How strange, it used to be in a studio... I dare say the because of the quick announcement of the election the studios were already booked for other stuff.

Tonights Debate or one to one might get more interesting:

What's happening in the background where Adam Bolton is on Sky News (you can't see it, only hear), sounds like there is some sort of political argument going on.

That looks a LOT more impressive than a studio!

That's not unusual, nor much of a surprise. You'll see the Labour MPs tweeting along with the party lines, as well as the other parties not present attacking May and Corbyn.

Just leaving this here as a little teaser for what's to come post-event on Sky tonight.

Needless to say, I'm going to be very tired come midnight tonight!

Just no camera pics of Adam Bolton's backside please! Laughing

It is Kevin Maguire, Andrew Pierce and I who shall be doing the running! 22:30 Press Preview with Adam Boulton from the spin room, then 23:30 from the glass box with Anna Jones.
BBI45 and London Lite gave kudos

Hi VMPhil - ever since 2007 the BBC had planned to sell of Television Centre. It was not like it was a shock sale. They had plenty of time to implement plans for when they would move out.

I'm sure they still would have been sorting things out very close to the broadcast though.
