They should have stuck Michael Buerk on to read the spoof news report. He normally gets involved in things like this.

I am not american, and will not be called one. That is an insult.

Being American is not an insult. It's actually very good. I lived there many years.

Oh for god's sake. This thread is sooo off topic. It was about the Party at the Palace not insulting a 12 year old boy! What is the problem he made a valid point that if someone older had said would have been taken as a valid point! It is rude to call him by something he wishes not be known as. It is like saying England and Wales are the same and all Welsh people are English ones in disguise! It's offensive to their roots and herritage. So get back on topic you bunch of offensive and patronising little @#%£"$&s Cool

Thank you Tom. I know this went off topic, and I'm sorry. I don't exacly have an american accent. I have a sorta New Foundland accent, a mix of Canadian/American and Irish accents. Anyway, at least the beeb knows to back off next time. I personally can see their point, but I don't mind, probaly since it doesn't affect me.

And you have done a great job about getting the thread back on topic haven’t you Mr Phipps Rolling Eyes .

Forgetting the 12 year old American troll for a moment, does anybody know if the footage is available on the net anywhere yet, as I for one would like to see it again.

The footage is now available in the Newswatch programme on the BBC News website. After now viewing it, it is clear to me BBC News has little if any credibility remaining for me. It's a joke - in the bad sense of the word.

There seems to have been a large increase in BBC Newsreaders appearing in spoof bulletins/sitcoms/dramas etc lately. They need to think up new ideas
