Mark Tyler, interestingly, also presented the last 'The West Tonight' 6pm programme on Friday this week - his first and last appearance as a main anchor on the ITV West programme!

Out they go with another emotional ending from Plymouth then. Such a shame.

Unfortunately, the endcap froze before the 'ITV Westcountry' logo had fully formed, which resulted in it appearing to say 'ITV West'. Intentional?

ITV West made a bit of a boo-boo with their last words to viewers - they told us the national news with Steve Scott was coming next... when in fact it was the FA cup coverage instead!

Tiny glitch at the end as the end titles stuck on Westcountry apart from that Gibbo got a bit tearful which was entirely understandable.

Mark Tyler held it all together and the final report was by Guy Pannell who worked for the three ITV franchises .

Blimey I needed that drink after watching the very last Westcountry Live

Terribly sad

I've just watched the last Westcountry News on ITV Local and what a sad ending, I still haven't got over the sadness of the last Westcountry Live.

I wonder how many familuar faces will be on the new news team?

Will the changes be large on Monday, for Spotlight?

Parts of the new Spotlight set got an airing today on The Politics Show and the bulletin this evening. Looks quite nice, so far. Hopefully that CSO screen behind the desk will be replaced by a back-projection screen and we've finally seen the end of the green smudges around the presenters...

should the floor have been black? The base of the screens are, and they clash a bit with the lamminate flooring, unless they are going to quickly paint the floor tonight.

That would be the best option. It certainly looks like a 'work in progress' at the moment, so I imagine there is going to be more activity before the lunchtime bulletin tomorrow.

I think Mark Tyler is going to be presenting 'The westcountry tonight' on a Friday when Steve Scott is at ITN. He's doing the sport for the new show instead of Jed Pitman.

Now that looks like a nice shot... not sure why as it all a bit gray but there is something about it I like!

Hope the new shots are not of some fake BBC look-a-like newsroom, a full wide shot of Plymouth from somewhere around Jennycliff would look great!



Mark did say that he was part of the new team during the last update, would explain why he didn't look that bothered about it!
