At one point during last night's main 6pm ITV News West Country (east), a shot was used that I've not seen before.
I don't know all of the correct terminology for different camera angles/shots, but will attempt to describe it...
It was a totally symmetrically-framed/dead-centre shot, directly facing the back of the set (i.e. not even slightly angled towards either of the side walls). Both presenters therefore were equally in shot. All five "windows" (i.e. including the two side ones) were visible at the same time. IIRC the further forward parts of the side walls (with the TV screens that spend much of time displaying the programme logo) were not visible, so they were "beyond the front of your TV screen" so to speak.
Clearly some sort of wide angle lens was being used, as the surroundings had an apparent depth as if the back wall of the set was further behind the presenters than it looks to be during most shots. The whole desktop surface was visible in the bottom of shot. The front edge of the desktop was seemingly framed down-to-the-millimetre coinciding with the exact bottom edge of the shot. The wide angle lens made the desk look as if it had an excessive depth, forward of the presenters (it was like an airport runway!).
Can't decide whether I liked this shot, or not...
