I know Gemma has been recording programs for this new 'SEE TV' satellite channel that's due to launch (it's currently sharing with Life Showcase)...

Not the same John Hammond as in the BBC Weather presenter?

Talking of the weather....we had none other than Michael Fish doing the weather on South East Today this evening. Shocked Ironic really as the South East was worst to be battered by the 1987 hurricane. Laughing He lives in Eastbourne so I can see why he did our forecast - just seems strange seeing him again, especially as he was trying to master the new weather graphics! The new graphics were introduced after he left.

So the South East will get it's own regional channel? Sounds good and I wish it the very best of luck. Wonder if Gemma'll be doing a Debbie Lindley by still working for ITV whilst involved in this other project (like Debbie and her radio programme - if I'm getting it right?).

Ah...I wondered what happened to Michael Fish. He had been unveiled as a stand-in before Christmas (I think) on SET but didn't appear that often.

I always enjoy seeing the 'retired' forecasters, such as Michael Fish and even Meridian's Carl Tyler. Just adds nostalgia to that day's forecasts to see a legend at work. Very Happy

No - probably the same John Hammond that used to be on Wire TV, a dire cable tv station in the early 90's.
One of his 'corpsing' clips where he cues the break in a fit of uncontrollable giggles turns up occassionally on It'll Be Alright On The Night.

South Today have been using the new style of titles for ages, the set was updated when they got the new titles/music.

She is certainly of some form of National standard, even if it is just Breakfasty-type stuff (admittedly, I haven't seen much of Sally so can't comment).

Nothing for me can beat the Mike Debens and Ron Lobeck combination. Bev and Geoff get pretty close though. Phil and Charlotte border on the cringeworthy Confused

With all due respect to 'Hunchback' Hornby (I noticed someone called him that in an earlier thread! Laughing ), I think Charlotte & Glen Thompsett are a good double act. But in the South sub-region you can't beat Fred Dineage and Carl Tyler! I loved it on the ITV50 in the South programme when they mentioned the mic-tug incident following the Hayling Island tornado. As much as I like Gemma, Robin and Martyn, you can't get a better pair than Fred and Carl. Very Happy

So good to see Glen back on tonights main programme. He and Charlotte look grreat together. More please!!!!!!!!!

Whilst I like the credits and the fact they update the pictures every so often so it doesn't get boring, I dislike the version of the music they use, I prefer the London version.
