I'm surprised Meridian didn't send 'Hunchback' Hornby on an OB to cover the story.
Owen Thomas did a report (not for the bank robbery) for Meridian Tonight yesterday. Is he freelance for all regions now?
Also, Ron Lobeck got a mention in the Sports News yesterday. Don't ask me what it was about because I've forgotten.
Anyway, back to the 'robbery' and BBC South East Today had a live link-up to the Police statement confirming the latest amount of cash thought to be stolen. All this to fit in to last night's bulletin, then they had to show a statement by Ofcom regarding something on the 11th August 2004.

I reckon Gemma's left over a dispute. Surely Hornby, Dineaege or somebody would have mentioned if she were unwell.
OB
It looks like BBC South Today has introuduced proper in-vision weather with Alina in their late bulletin, i would gather its pre recorded and the Cso is a bit dodgy

Meridian SE had a few technical probs tonight. Two reports on 'that' robbery contained no sound, studio cameras clashed into each other! and the autocue failed.

BBC South East Today had more than there fair share of troubles too. Reporter Collette McBeth throwing to a package believing the camera had cut away, when in fact she did a brialliant impression of David Coleman - hand to earpiece - saying "Why can't I hear anything" Various sound problems and clipped beginnings. Good 'ole Geoff covered in his usual pro way.
As for Meridian Tonight - never keep apologising for your mistakes - as Phil and Charlotte did throughout the programme - they only tumble into a bigger snowball.

Indeed! It's well worth the watch for anyone who can
- the cameras crashing is a particular highlight (why did they not cut to the wide shot? They were clearly having problems because of the longer hold on the previous VT!)
Phil did his best to laugh through the whole thing - was there any mention of it at the very end of the programme?

Yep, still doing the lacklustre ITV Local forecasts.
If you compare her ITV Local forecasts to those of Martyn, Robin or even Philippa, Gemma's are always brief. I like Gemma, but I wish she'd do the Local forecasts with the same depth as her colleagues.
