She's on some rubbish property programme at the moment, isn't she?
Personally, I think this is a good move for Sophie - she's always been better on her own and has gradually grown into a single presenting role (although she is also excellent when brought in to cover breaking news on News 24). Also, she has got a promotion as she now has her own bulletin and doesn't have to pay second fiddle to George anymore.
The Six went downhill in January 2003 when it went double-headed - not neccesarily because of the concept but because of the presenters - George was, and is still, awful with a co-presenter and, Sophie was rusty at the beginning but since has improved massively and deserves the chance to be a main anchor.

I would also agree with someone's earlier post of bringing Jules Botfield back into the studio, though she has all but disappeared from our screens at the moment - hopefully she will be back.

But the Six O'Clock News started as a double header programme with Sue Lawley and Nicholas Witchell. It went downhill when they had the revamp in 2003, Alagiah and Raworth don't compliment each other. This has led to the Evening News on ITV increasing its audience.

Which is exactly what I said - the Six went downhill from January 2003 when George and Sophie joined as George is crap with a co-presenter and Sophie was rusty to start with but has grown into a good newscaster but on the Six she's forever stuck behind George...

I agree entirely, but I don't remember the Six just having one presenter always two. I know the 9'O Clock News went from one newsreader to two newsreaders and back to one again. I wish Alagiah would go back to being a field reporter because he doesn't cut it as a newsreader.

The 6 was a single during the china red and cream era. Huw used to present, personally I think it was at it's best then.
Geogre is best on BBC 4 (The BBC 4 News as it was...)
Sophie, Umm, good choice for the one, like some have already said she is best on her own.
Interesting to see now if Dermot is taking the six and Geogre off to the feild/elsewhere. We'll see.
