Yeah, they never made any of this fuss when Sian took over the Six last year during Sophie's first maternity leave.

I can't believe this is actually a news story. I bet if it was anyone but Kaplinsky it wouldn't generate a story on BBC News Online!


Now, if you were been really synical I'd suggest she wrote the article...Or at least dictated the basic outline...

Anyway, more seriously, Nice to see Mishal back on our screens (She covers for Sian during the 'Tash releif).


Now this is just getting silly; they've issed a press release now! She better live up to all this hype!


And of course she's returning to work, not returning to the Six.

Dermot is presenting the six tonight and one presumes on other nights. Basically moving Breakfast to a prime time slot.

So I take it Dermot will be doing a bit of moving about - is this a trial for the future? I take it he'll present a mix of Breakfast, the Six, and the Ten?

Dermot has always done better IMO on every bulletin other than Breakfast. All though good on Breakfast he is wasted on it and should move to the Ten or Six permanently

Have to agree.

In many way Breakfast is alot harder than a "bog standard" bulletin, most notably because it's 4 times longer and then theres ab-libbing to cope with and not to mention the wakey wakey time of 4am. But yes, Dermot is far better suited to the six.

Bill is going to be shattered if he continues to stay in Stricty Come Dancing. Breakfast for 4 days, the studio show on Saturday, and heavy training...

Perhaps while come dancing is on they might get David Eades to do a few extra days.

We have to think of the bees too.

I must say Dermot and Natasha did an excellent job on the six this evening. In fact they were a breath of fresh air from George and Sophie and I wish they took over and left breakfast.
