A total Solar Eclipse is happening in North America today with the UK and some European countries getting a partial Eclipse if we are lucky this evening.

Sky News are doing coverage from 3pm with Kay Burley out in America. I haven't seen what BBC or the American networks are doing at the moment although I expect plenty of coverage.

EDIT: Shepard Smith is doing live coverage on FOX News and there will be a BBC News Special on the News Channel at 6pm.

Newsround had Biz reporter Nada Tawfik from Kentucky. Assuming she's also doing lives for World?

Nice of the sun to time its solar eclipse with the Six O’Clock News.

She is indeed. We've got a News Special with Matthew Amroliwala in B at the desk, which is illuminated Impact orange for the occasion.

BBC News on Facebook is doing a live broadcast but with a different set of people than is featuring on either the News Channel or World News - seems odd that they're producing a third stream of content when either of the two they were doing anyway would have done the job!

The bottom of the hour weather after the WN simulcast at 6pm was also a bit weird - not very often we see 'in association with the Met office AND the World Meteorological Organisation' in the UK! Started off with a look at weather relating to the eclipse but then for no apparent reason went on a tour of weather around the rest of the world, before a brief look at the UK picture for the rest of the day?

CNN's coverage is great (even better now Wolf is gone), although a little repetitive.

I was surprised that BBC World News was showing regularly scheduled programming (news and sports) when I tuned in about half an hour ago.

Oh, I assumed she was a CBS reporter, having never seen her before, and having an American accent ?

They have other North American reporters on the BBC payroll. Suzanne Kianpour is another American who works for BBC News and not forgetting Canadian Lyse Doucet!

BBC NC showed Sportsday as normal.
