Post as soon as you see on any TV News Channel
a) Weather Presenter reporting from a different location to normal and
b) A Weather report ending with children playing in snow along with out words "at least some people enjoyed themselves/ the snow/ the closed school"
I started watching last night when the BBC ran an unannounced special at 01.30 with Alastair Yates. A really good show as it happens. Laura Tobin and Andy Moore (breakfast reporter) in the studio with 5 phone links to BBC staff caught up in it all. I have to say - I don't know what the score is at Sky after midnight, but they were shockingly behind with reporting anything at all. In fact it wasn't until the 2am hour started that they even announced London Buses had been withdrawn.
Loved waking up to Breakfast - so informative, they did a great job! Wouldn't surprise me if we see a News Special or 2 today across channels.

Is terrorists going to attack Britain? Is the Queen going to die? I don't believe it's sensible to disrupt normal channel shedules across Britain because of a little snow in the south of England. Snow mustn't come around that often I guess, so any big snow thing in Britain these days is a national event.
Also, if the news channels are going to be short-staffed, why would the staff who made it get extra work by taking over the main channels?
Seems to be Live Desk as usual. The financial chanels seem to be as normal as well, although I should think that a lot of people haven't made it to the Stock Exchange today
Just seen bit on BBC News ticker advising people to stay tuned to BBC local radio stations for updates.
I caught a little bit of Sky's coverage on Monday morning - the extent of their pictures at around 10ish were:
- a nice shot of Parliament Square at dawn
- some bus drivers having a snowball fight outside their depot
- slow moving traffic, shot through a windscreen (perhaps a staffer on their way to work?)
- a live from a bridge over the M4 - I'd hazard a guess that it was Osterley Lane
