Sky's new weather gadget

Has anyone seen Sky News using this new weather gadget today in the studio? Similar to what they use on Sky Sports when they want to draw all over the screen - and what did they call it on the caption?

Never seen it before!

Its just the Skystrator. They can load any image or video footage into it, then draw on top. Sky News has been using it since Sept 11th coverage, and it was used extensively(spl?) during their War coverage.

Thanks for that... odd that I've never seen it in use until now - I should watch Sky News more often!

I'm sure ITV News Channel (and ITN News Channel) utilised something similar during the Iraq War and it was called the ITV News Locator!

I wonder where it has gone and whether they will use anything like that ever again?

The ITV News Locator has made several appearances since the relaunch.

However Sky News is the only news channel that has the gadgets to draw over live pictures.

What an answer!

Regardless of gadgets, Sky News's weather forecasts are still incomprehensible!
