On point one - that N24 broadcasts a more diverse range of programmes - I would agree, and I'm sure that Reporters and so on are well produced. But I can't say I've ever been particularly fascinated by any of News 24's features. It is, at the end of the day, entirely a matter of opinion. Clearly the judges' opinions were that Sky offered a better all-round service, and was better equipped at handling rolling news. Personally, I would say it's hard to disagree on that.
The idea that Sky has no character is daft - if anything, that's what it sells itself on. News 24 is a heck of a lot more bland and uninspiring to watch. You might not like the brash character that Sky pushes, but I find it hard to believe it has no character to its output whatsoever.
Smug presenters and dodgy haircuts - again, a matter of opinion, and personally I'd prefer most of the Sky team over the News 24 one.
As for CBS/ABC - I think the channel's were being judged on their own output, rather than another news organisation's.
On the last point, I can only offer you the comfort that your ignorance means you must live a blissful existence. And nothing more.[/quote]
Blissful existence? Moi? Being a poster on here? No way!
