I believe Sky News have access to the TV-am News archives that were sold to Sky not too long before TV-am closed down in 1992. Though the main TV-am archive is with Moving Image, the News footage does apparently belong to Sky.
Though correct me if I am wrong.

Random thought, and nothing to do with the relaunch
Where do Sky News get their old archive footage from? I'm talking about footage from 70's court cases and such like. There never seems to be a caption saying 'Courtesy of ***' or anything similar.

Has anybody any idea whether the pics we'll see today will just be promo shots of the presenters on set, or will we get to see graphics and titles?
From what I remember News 24 just released a few pictures of Jon & Louise on the new set.

I'd say after 1-2 pm. You wont be able to get at them unless you hold press access to image.net, unless Sky post images on their own site.
I'm sure places like Media.Guardian will have some in an article.

Shame they're cropped to 4:3, so we don't quite get the full effect.
I'm sorry to see they're continuing with the 'upside down' name straps, with title before name

I think i can see how they might be animated, a bit like CNN with aston animations, if you know what I mean.
I dont like having title on top, name on bottom. And ticker looks huge. Have to wait and see though

Here we can see a snap-shot of the new weather graphics perhaps? Seems 3D weather graphics are here to stay, although it seems Sky will do a mixture.
I don't know what to make of the other graphics, they look a little plain, and surely the ticker is going to be a very thick wedge across the bottom of the sceen if it has to fit the DOG into it too!

Must say, from those staff images, the weather graphics look new and very similar to the BBC ones, just more colourful.

No doubt that'll be the default image on the newswall.
Which part of the globe is it exactly!!!?
I heard a Live Video feed of the Houses Of Parliament was the default image?
And is there any time on when the pics might be available?
