6.00am - Sunrise
9.00am - Sky News Today
12.00pm - Live at Twelve
2.00pm - Sky News Today
5.00pm - Live at Five
6.30pm - Sportsline
7.00pm - The Sky Report (name inspired by Fox News Channel's "Fox Report with Shepard Smith", interesting to see if the content is too)
8.00pm - World News Tonight
9.00pm - Nine O'clock News
9.30pm - Sky News (except on Wednesdays when there is a repeat of Prime Minister's Questions)
10.00pm - Sky News at Ten
10.30pm - Sky News
11.00pm - Sky News Tonight
Overnight and early morning remain as they are now, with News on the Hour 12:00am-12:30am and 1:00am-3:30am, CBS Evening News at 12:30am and 3:30am, and Sky World News and World Review & Business Report at 4:00am-5:00am
Weekends are largely the same as now, with Saturday Live with Martin Stanford, and Sunday
Live
with Adam Boulton (slightly amended title to fit in with the Saturday show). Both run 10am-12pm, not for three hours as that poorly worded press release said.
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed with the lack of effort that Sky has put into to naming these shows. Given that the emphasis is upon branded and distinctive programming, 'Live at Twelve', 'Sky News Today' and 'Sky News' don't really sell it. Think of how some of Sky News' programming was branded prior to the 'gravestone' look; similarly, think of how the American networks brand their programming, in particular CNN. Up until a few years ago, they had Daybreak, Early Edition, Morning News, Newsday, Today, Late Edition, Moneyline, World View, etc. Even now they have Newsnight or AC360 and the Situation Room - though I'm not too keen on that one.
Why couldn't they have gone for something more like Sunrise, followed by 'Newsline'. Live at Twelve is hardly inspiring - what about 'Frontline'. This could then be followed by 'Sky News Today', itself followed by 'Live at Five'. Then the evening schedule kicks in with 'The Sky Report', Sportsline, 'Sky World News Tonight', 'First Edition' and the overnight programming rebranded as 'Nightline'.
Again, similar themes and titles could be given to the weekend lineup - though I must admit, 'Saturday Live' /'Sunday Live' are a step in right direction.
hmmm, this thing about graphics saying what's coming up, sounds like what they used to do on sunrise years ago. wasn't too keen on it then but hopefully this will look a little better. will be interesting to see who stands in when kay, julie, or any of the other regulars are off.
Tim Marshall's report on MI6 this afternoon includes what I assume to be a very brief glimpse of his desk area in the new studio complex. From the very tiny amount I saw, looks nice, but suppose we will have to wait and see the rest of it!
So bloody annoying that it's taking so long to get sorted. Given the number of advertising agencies they've had working on it, it's curious (and worrying) that there haven't actually been any adverts for it. Presumably they'll have to start doing them on Monday at the latest... a week of promos sounds about right.
Sorry if this has been mentioned but will sky news still have titles ??? will they be diffrent titles for every programme or will they have the same titles but at the end a logo saying Live @ 12 or whatever ?

There is a screen cap from the report on newsforums.co.uk. I caught the end of the report this morning, glad its not just me that thought this was the new studio..
It looks pretty smart... like the deep red. But then this is sort of like looking at one room in a house and saying 'i'll take it!' If the set is as big as we've been lead to believe then we'll probably be noticing pointless and tiny details for the next 12 months.
My first reaction was actually ''That must've cost 'em a fair bit...''
I think that the new studio will be well worth the wait - given the months of speculation, nail biting and Kleenex stockpiling, it has to be good, doesn't it?
