Sky News Thread - Relaunch on Monday

Curiosity killed the cat.........which now has a starring role in the new RSPCA adverts.

"Preview images of the new set, and Sky News’ new programme schedule will be available from Thursday 20 October, 2005. "

No doubt some (sneaky) insiders will be able to enlighten us wiv a few images?

There will be blue in the graphics, and there are two logos, Red/White and White/Red, and both will be used.

The bottom logo is the DOG/BUG ..

So is the top one in the titles?

Why have two? What is the reasoning behind that?

Lots of logos have variations for use in different situations. Single Colour versions, 3dish versions, dark backings, light backings etc

The white outlined logo woudln't look very good on white, whereas the red backing logo wouldn't look too good on a dark backing.

The Sky Programme Information website now has listings for the relaunch, with the titles for the various new shows we don't already know about.

WEEKDAYS

6.00am - Sunrise
9.00am - Sky News Today
12.00pm - Live at Twelve
2.00pm - Sky News Today
5.00pm - Live at Five
6.30pm - Sportsline
7.00pm - The Sky Report (name inspired by Fox News Channel's "Fox Report with Shepard Smith", interesting to see if the content is too)
8.00pm - World News Tonight
9.00pm - Nine O'clock News
9.30pm - Sky News (except on Wednesdays when there is a repeat of Prime Minister's Questions)
10.00pm - Sky News at Ten
10.30pm - Sky News
11.00pm - Sky News Tonight

Overnight and early morning remain as they are now, with News on the Hour 12:00am-12:30am and 1:00am-3:30am, CBS Evening News at 12:30am and 3:30am, and Sky World News and World Review & Business Report at 4:00am-5:00am

Weekends are largely the same as now, with Saturday Live with Martin Stanford, and Sunday Live with Adam Boulton (slightly amended title to fit in with the Saturday show). Both run 10am-12pm, not for three hours as that poorly worded press release said.

Plus confirmation on there that it *will* be widescreen, when you click on the programme titles.

One thing I've thought - after their flirting with it in the past, does anyone know if five are thinking of showing the whole of Sunrise now that it's got Eamonn? I certainly wouldn't be surprised.

Sunrise

Very interesting graphics, with a small box showing what's up next and a cube which spins above the presenters shoulder with the next slug in it.

It's a far fresher look to the channel.


Cant really see what that will look like :s

You know I thought of that idea ages ago- it sounds fantastic!

Great way to keep people informed as to the next story they're about to go to and should keep the pace of the channel high.....could also be used for things like "live to westminster in 2 minutes" whilst a prepackaged report is being played.

Sounds different, sounds clever and sounds promising with the other hints we've seen about the on screen information (less garish etc).

But I've got to point this out:



Look's like they've found the perfect slot for her- most people at work so she can concentrate on "human interest stories" for the daytime slobs.
