SKY NEWS’S eagerly awaited, multi-million pound, once-in-a-decade overhaul is about to be unveiled, and we hear it represents an
interesting departure for a 24-hour rolling news channel – namely less rolling news. Reporter Julie Etchingham (above) will receive star billing, fronting a new prime-time programme – provisionally entitled The Seven O’Clock Show – with a dedicated team of reporters. Details are sketchy, but we hear it will exemplify a more personality-led schedule at the channel – although obviously not at the expense of its award-winning news coverage.

Some captures have been posted on newsforums.co.uk from the recent Sky One documentary on Hurricane Katrina, and what could be the new Sky News set behind Francis Wilson. It does fit in with the descriptions and the artists impression.

Edit - Someone who has got things right in the past on that forum has posted in the same thread saying it is the new studio.

From what I see of the image brighter, I think it could be the new set, Take alook at the image below
(credit: newsforums.co.uk)
and see what I think.

1- Looks like either a light box or an LCD tv.
2- Looks like a sort of pod camera.
3- Lighting for Set
4- Either the top of the celeing where there is a window or lights.
5- Could be the newswall.
and it looks as if the man is standing up very high near the ceiling obviously.
EDIT I have a new idea that just came to mind!
2 is a pod camera pointing directly towards the newswall which is that black number 5 area. and number one is an LCD showing the rolling auto cue where the presenter looks when doing a story from that part of the newswall.
This may not even be the new set but thats what i think!

It's not clear enough, but couldn't 1. be an ITV News-style overhead camera overlooking the newswall?

Francis is standing on the top floor which is naturally quite close to the ceiling.
Number 1 is a light.
Number 2 is another light (a spotlight like the ones that are actually on set in five news)
Number 3 is the ceiling lighting
Number 4 is more lighting in the ceiling that's actually on.
Number 5 is interesting - if you look at it curves round you can see it's the newswall. The black area is all the screens switched off. Around the screens is a kind of wooden blocking that makes the newswall look like it's in a frame.
