May be they could do a SKY NEWS 2 make it a bit like radio 5 with news and talk.
Sky News 2?
What on earth would they put out on it? Endless sport bulletins with bimbo women from Sky Sports News? Or maybe Allan King smiling and laughing at his poor newspaper review jokes and dazzling us with his whiter than white teeth?
I'm under the impression Headline News is constant rolling news, as opposed to CNN, which has a variety of programmes, like what Sky are going to do.
It would make
some
sense to have a second channel for purely rolling news whilst Sky News shows specialist programmes or whatever- although quite what it'd show when normal rolling news is on Sky News (1?), I've got no idea.
Also, if the news was big enough, Sky News would presumably break into their pre-defined programming anyway.
Presumably you're 'Will Riker' from NewsForums. The same asinine posts are so easy to recognise. Why don't you spare us the pain of having to read your posts and just talk to the voices in your head.
On a lighter note, I think this World News Tonight sounds interesting. I think Sky News will be trying to position themselves as an bigger international player, though their main focus surely must be trying to recapture its UK dominance.
Sky Headline News, fesable I guess. then you could argue that they could do a Sky Business News channel too. So you'd have a whole network of Sky News'. Sky News, Sky Headline News, Sky Sports News and Sky Business News.
Wow, what a corporate smothering of other news channels that would be.

And how would they pay for these new channels? Sky News has never paid a penny in the near-20 years it's been going - why would a headline news service make any cash? There's nothing in it for Sky to dilute the budget by setting up a second news channel. They should just concentrate on their relaunch.
Sky Business News isnt a bad idea, move all business news to a new channel like bloomberg, use the newswall and VR suite to record business updates with charts and graphs and other 3d flashy graphics.
Turn Sky Sports News into a channel covering ALL sports, not just football, then all Showbiz news can be put on news active, or just show Sky Movies News programmes on the main channel.

Sky Sports News does cover many sports, not just football, but Cricket, Rugby, Speedway etc.
Football is just the main focus as it's the most popular and Sky pay loads of money for rights and stuff. Makes sense to me. Eurosport covers the 'lesser' sports.
Although I generally like him as a presenter, I have noticed of late that JT is becoming more and more bumbling and kinda out of place. His speech also seems to have changed a lot.
A few weeks back, he did 3 hours of Live at Five on his own and he was ok! But, he now seems to be uncomfortable for some reason.
Maybe needs a holiday......................don't we all?
I've been looking through this thread (i'm sure it's written in here somewhere!) and other various websites but can't seem to find out where sky news is currently broadcast from. I know they are moving to a purpose built studio/news centre in Osterley, London - but where are they now? Some web site said Middlesex/Chilworth. I know you guys are bound to know.
