Not sure if you're completely sure about the concept of forums such as this. The idea is to share information and discuss it, not to smugly let on that you know something that everyone else doesn't and then communicate with someone in a manner which noone else understands.
If you know something, say it! If not, please keep your "we're in the know and you're not" conversations to private messaging.

I will, Just as soon as I get the email saying what I am I alowed to say.
A few weeks ago, I saw what I belive to be the new sky news logo.... it was like a print version of sky sports logo non 3D sayin SKY NEWS, in white and red. Saw it on sky press office .. took it as an error or something as the page didnt display properly either.
Regarding the red breaking news strap - correct me if I'm wrong, but the rest of the graphics are red as well, are they not? I'd hate to get petty about this, but it seems from The TV Room that News 24's breaking news strap has used white on red since 1999 - Sky News started using a more similar one in 2001.
The point is, there is no point in going into who copied who, when it comes to petty things such as the colour of a breaking news strap. Red is an eye-catching colour, and therefore it is only logical that it is used to catch attention.

No, because that isn't the BBC News logo.
Sky have been using a white on red breaking news strap since about 1995.
But I agree, it is very petty, which is why I think it was pretty tedious for Moz to bring it up.
Back on more relevant matters: What is going on with the Sky News website? The homepage is showing a homepage from about a week ago. I thought it was just me but I cleared my cache etc. and it's still there. Bit bizarre. EDIT: Working fine now.

I don't think Moz said anything about a logo and certainly not a breaking news strap, I think what he was saying was that if Sky News are dumping the blue and going completely for red, the colour you associate for Sky News would be the same as the one you'd associate with BBC News, which is true.
That hardly means Sky is copying though, they could use red in a very different way. They may not even use that much red in their graphics.

True, but their studio, titles and other graphics were still very blue at the time. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but BBC News was the first in the UK to go for a fully red on-air look. If these rumours are true, Sky News will be the next to do that - however I wouldn't quite call it copying, at least not until I've seen it.
Although the colours would be the same, I'm sure Sky News will be very different from BBC News when they relaunch in the next few weeks.
