Harmonization, they should scrap the Sky Sports logo, and use the font in a different way, they have had the same logo since 97, albeit with a new font now.
I can't say I am a fan of red in any graphics - it's just about the worst colour to choose because it bleeds so badly. Attention grabbing, absolutely; headache inducing, without doubt.
We shall see. I imagine that with the effort they are going to, and the time they are taking over it, they can't be all that bad. I expect any 'plain' look will be tempered by some snazzy animations.
And, as ever with Sky, they'll only trash the graphics set a few days after relaunching them and alter anything that looked remotely decent. When they introduced the 2001 set, there were parts of the graphics that were there at 6am and gone by 7am, just one hour after they were introduced. Remember the spinning 'i'?
I wonder whether this logo will still be in the top left of the screen and whether they will still append the clock to the end of the logo or whether the clock will be moved as part of the on screen changes. This logo certainly doesn't lend itself to the cube style clock and logo that they've had in the past.
That looks pretty nice to be honest - fresh and clean, and a lot easier on the eye than the current red/blue/white combo.
As an aside... have they now ditched the weather sponsors? They seem to be having live weather forecasters doing the weather forecast at the end of the summaries at the top and bottom of the hour, rather than the presenter doing them from the newswall. Looks a thousand times better.
I was going to post this earlier but I had to nip out, I was surprised to see mromega's logo when I came back because it looks like the one I was going to post! It looks a lot better in 3D than it does as flat colours, but I'd rather not convince myself it *is* the logo until I see it on-screen. I don't like it as much as the current one, it looks too square and rigid...
