So? No date set...Might the september 12th be a lie or does Sky News just not want to tell the person that it is that date ?

Well no-one knows for certain so I wouldnt take the 12th Sept date as gospel, but its the only one that has been banded around, so Im willing to believe it for now. As for the lack of info in the e-mail, its understandable. Sky wont reveal to the public their planned relaunch date incase something goes wrong and the date is changed. The channel would look stupid if on the revealed date, there was no change due to technical problems or other circumstances. Id expect their to be some kind of press release a month before the relaunch happens, then a final date will be revealed sometime after that but only when they are 100% sure they are ready to go on air with it.

SO who will replace summit on BBC3? My money is on Emily Maitlis.

Err - Sumit doesn't present on BBC Three, and I don't think he has ever presented on BBC Three.

He was, along with Tazeen Ahmad and Tina Bangs, one of the first 60 Seconds presenters - but this was still in the days of BBC Choice, and before BBC Three existed.

ISTR that when BBC Three launched (and The News Show started) - Ben McCarthy, Tazeen and Sangita Myska were the main presenters, Sumit had left the 60 Seconds team and moved to Inside Out by this point?

i think you have to ASIAN to present 60 seconds

Dunno what gives you that idea.

Sevi Lawson, Libby Potter, Nick Wallis, James Dagwell and Matthew Charles all present 60 Seconds reasonably regularly - and none of them are Asian. In fact none of the current 60 Seconds presenters are Asian...

In fact in the last 18 months or so I think the only Asian presenter on BBC Three News was Tazeen - as she was the main female presenter in the team, presenting the Seven O'Clock News, she presented quite a few weekday 60 Seconds bulletins. (She normally did 3 or 4 days a week of 60 Seconds, with Sevi doing the others)

Sorry if i'm wrong but wasn't BBC Choice just renamed as BBC Three?

Well yes and no. BBC Choice closed down and was replaced by BBC Three, but since some programmes transferred over, many think of it as a name change when infact it wasnt.

I thought this was a Sky News thread, not a debate about the rebranding of a BBC channel, there are enough BBC threads already on this site.

Some very very good coverage of the Shuttle docking procedure on NewsToday with Martin presenting a lot of the Shutlle presentations.

Flicked through the channels and Sky News has by far the best coverage of this.
Well done chaps at sky!!

News 24 seem to have presenters standing up just for the sake of it (eg the bottom of the hour headline summary), but Sky News have really got the hang of using their studio space to its full potential.

There was footage coming in of the shuttle shot from the space station, so they stuck Martin in front of the CSO screen to do some pointing.
Which was fine, until they got to the next story, and brought up the newswall still for the next story, which was a very tall and thin Charles and Camilla..
