On Sky news Today, look at the screen behind the presenters in the standy-up area. It's a wallpaper with a dark red/blue skysports style background and a darker looking sky news logo. Has this got something to do with the new look

This one?

Someone mentioned this before, but unfortunately it's not a clue to the new look! You can get it from Sky News Centre, it's one of mine. Someone there must've liked it!

yep, thats it. and well done lee for getting it on tv Cool

It will be interesting to see if, when Eamon joins Sky News, he retains the personality he had at GMTV. Will sunrise be a chatty, laughable show like GMTV was when Eamon presented it? Will Eamon make funny comments that make the crew burst into fits of laughter and will he put his opinions across? Basically will Eamon be taking Sunrise seriosuly? He has always sounded as if he wanted to do something more hard hitting than GMTV.

The official reason he gave for quitting GMTV was because the standard of the stories covered was, in his opinion, rapidly decreasing, so I think the move to Sunrise will see him presenting in a more serious way. God forbid they turn Sunrise into a GMTV clone!

But it'll be a shame to see him hiding a personality that everybody who watched GMTV knows is there.

It is possible to have banter and to seriously present the news. Bob Friend managed it for years!

I imagine Sunrise will include interviews in the soft area, with special reports, showbiz, business, sport, and news updates. I'd also expect a Paper Review... that always has banter.

But I wouldnt expect a GMTV Clone, to trashy and tacky.

i agree with this, sky news in our eyes is becoming more and more americanised, such as goin to MSNBC to get ideas! what will probley happen is they will do their own verison of NBC's Today/ CBS's Early Show and ABC's Good Morning America, all known for their news coverage but also for broadcasting in both serious and fun styles.

Is there something wrong with you? Martin's comment was perfectly valid. Why don't you go and take your head out of your bum, then learn how to spell "worn", not "weared" as you said in another thread.

Well said James. There always seems to be an excessive amount of nitpicking in this forum.

Now this may have been mentioned earlier (sorry haven't had timt to traw through all the pages) but there appears to be a new look to the latter part of overnights on Sky. Seems to be very 'World' news between 4 and 6 ... no more CBS at 0530 - just lots of segments all linked by the overnight presenter with lots of stings - with the look of the one posted earlier ... there is a showbiz section, international press review, email section - which looks to me like it's recorded by one of the late presenters - set the video if you're not up early enough. Looks to me like it's the sort of segment they are trying to flog around the globe - or at least is going out on Sky News Australia etc .. the emails were from around the world, rather than just UK viewers. Perhaps they are boosting the 'World' feel to overnights to compete with the BBC who do the same sort of thing with The World Today at 5.

We only see 15-30 minutes of Sky News UK in the afternoon here on Sky News Australia. TOday for some reason on SNA they played sky news uk at 4.15 NZT for 15 minutes when they usually have a full half hour then. and they usually have 15min of SNUK and SNA the hour later
