is the newswall going to be the same idea as the current one, with the squared screens or is it going to be like a giant RP screen?

and is the studio like the artists impression shown ages ago"?

Any news on whether or not Sky News Active will be given a revamp as well? ISTR they used 16 screens on election night - maybe they will do this? They could have a screen for each story instead of just the top story, that would be really cool.

New studio looks cool if that's how it does look. I get the idea from the changes made in recent times to current presentation that with the new look, we'll probably get headline sequences that last for about 54 minutes per hour.

Also, any truth in those mentions earlier about Sky Sports News taking over the current Sky News studio? SSN has a lot of potential, let's hope that the move also marks a change in the flow and presentation of the channel, at the moment it's all a bit slow and dull. Something in the style of Sky News Today would be much better.

Not forgetting if Sky News get new colours the studio will be diffrent as that features red/blue colours......Very impressive anyway cant wait now to see all on screen graphics and everything!

The artist's impression is very accurate. However, if you haven't seen the studio for real it's difficult from that picture to get an idea of how it'll look. The colours remain blue/red. However, I have no idea on whether or not the idents and logos are to change. To add to the impression - imagine a little plasma screen in the centre of the newsdesk and behdind the presenters on one wall you have a view of the gallery, while there's another backdrop, which is the newswall. The newswall, to answer a previous question, is a series of monitors. However, they seem to be pretty sofisticated plasma screens so it's almost impossible to see that they're a series of monitors. The image just looks like one huge tv screen. The screen bends round, rather like the ITV News wall. And, incase anyone didn't pick up on my previous post - the desk is rotatable, so there will be various shots. All in all, it's pretty hot! Plus there's a spiral staircase for Ms Burley!

To change the topic slightly, though it doesn't warannt a new thread.

Vodafone live! in Ireland have been trailing their Sky News service on their 3G portal for the past few days (since the bombings in London). While the logo on the actual Sky News pages is the correct one, the Vodafone live! homepage has the 1998-2001 logo on it...

In terms of size, roughly how much bigger is the new set compared to the current one?
