I agree with the above comments and I thought that yesterday's coverage of the shoot out was excessive. However, today, I think that the coverage has been excellent. Sky presented an option for all those fans who wanted to watch the parade and stuck with it. They realised that anyone who wanted other news could go to other channels, but still persisted. Also, tonight has reaffirmed my belief that Jeremy Thompson is the best news presenter in the UK - he can appear authoritative when covering wars, discussing the Catholic Church, hosting election programmes and talking about football. I think that other presenters would struggle to do this. Very Happy

This can't be cheap coverage either - three OB locations, several hours of Skycopter footage, and no ad breaks since (I presume) around 6.30. But it's been really well put together, with JT anchoring from Liverpool city centre, and a sports reporter back in the studio reading out emails and texts.

Anyone got any video captures of the parade coverage? Or could send me any on DVD or Video? Just got back from it being by Lime Street station and would love to see more of it!

No doubt the whole thing will be available to buy on DVD within days as was the case with the Grand Slam Wales Victory

You would not believe the difference in the new Sky News set in the last couple of weeks!! It is really now starting to come together with the final fixtures and fittings going in. I'll be interested to see how it looks when the lighting is all in, but I think you'll all be impressed when you see it on launch day. It's going to take your breath away!

Right, after a fairly busy sunrise I'm off over to Five to prepare for this afternoon's programmes....... And to keep on drooling over the new set !

From Steve Dixons Site, sounds pretty impressive..

Does anyone know what has happened to Keith Graves? I haven't seen him for ages.

He retired last year some time.

Now lives in Corfu, and does very very occasional pieces if he's the only person in the area.

As Bob Friend said - "A journalist never really retires"

What is wrong with you?
If you are trying to get banned from the forum you are going the right way about it. Your musings may interest and entertain yourself, but not everyone else cares. If you keep posting stupid things, which have no relevance to TV presentation, then other members will simply continue to report you to the moderators.

I've gotta say, Steve Dixon truly is fab. I didn't really like him not so long ago... well I didn't dislike him, but I thought that as he's pretty young he'd probably be bland so never really paid much attention to him. From reading his site, I reckon he's as much as a saddo... I mean enthusiast as we are. Anyone know if he reads or even posts here?
