He couldn't be bothered to go as far as Osterley then..... ?
Either of them say anything interesting? I missed it.

Oh God... the Burley is about to have a love-in with him on the channel.
They've got Eammon in the Westminster studio and are about to interview him after the break.

I got the impression he was one of Burley's showbiz mates - wouldn't be surprised if she'd had a hand in getting him to join.
Lots of jokes about football - him being Man Utd, her being Arsenal - and other things like ''how important do you think 24 hour news is?'', that added nothing really. Then he said he felt it was important because he knew Burley had always wanted to work with him.
Just an opportunity for them to parade him around.
Presumably Osterley will be handy for him, as it's right next to Heathrow and he's always flying home.

I wonder if we will see any other big-name poaches from ITN or BBC News, I remember reading an interview with IIRC Nick Pollard who said there would be some poaches from other broadcasters, but I wonder if Eamonn will be the only one they actually poach?

The last I'd heard from a contact there was the beginning of August.

We should also bear in mind that Eamonn doesn't work over the summer! Therefore I'm assuming that a September relaunch is now inevitable.

I hope the new studio will be big enough to accommodate two egos that size in one place, else TV sets across the world could start to explode.
Ugh...I'm already ill enough at the moment without having to think about the love-in those two will have if (when) they do a double-header.
I'd like to think I will be pleasantly surprised when Eamonn appears - his background is journalism after all, and he could be the injection of sparkle Sky News has been missing since the depatures of misters Friend and McCoy - but something about this... I wouldn't say it gives me a bad feeling, just...it doesn't sit right somehow. Maybe I'm too used to seeing him as light entertainment material?

It's got to be the beggining of August, as Sky Sports will need a new studio for the new soccer season in mid August.

Well I think it just got to a point where a professional relationship could no longer continue. He's widly known for his dislike of Fiona/Producer (Who are a couple) The famous "Stupid Bitch" look on the WW2 remark by Fiona summed how things had turned.
It is also known he was unhappy with the news/entertainment content of the show.

Funny how he left a morning show for another one. Especially after the news of him slagging off GMTV bosses.
