Wait till you see the new graphics... they're lovely...
much more subtle and understated than at the moment...
there's a new colour for the main SKY NEWS logo...
AND a new programme theme.

Does it still have the jingle that it has had since 1997? Or completly new? Whats the colours, and any sneek pics or anything... pleeasseee Surprised

Not sure when the last time you watched the channel was, but there have been about four different themes since 1997.

...hopefully they won't make swooshing noises either each time it cuts to a live two-way feed.

I know it's a bit cheesy and American, but I quite like it - plus it makes me look up if I'm doing something else. I also like breaking news sound they use when the aston appears over a report - sounds like a bath plunger or something.

Makes it a bit more interesting to watch, and kinda 'oooh - something's happening,' I think the BBC could learn something here. The vertical wipe they use to animate their block text graphic on and off screen is too slow at appearing/disappearing - needs a faster fade in or effect in my opinion.

I don't think this question has been asked before (at least not on this thread), but will Sky Sports News move into the old Sky News studio once it is vacated? I seem to remember this possibility being raised somewhere on the forum.

So do we know the date when they are going to move yet ? Or is it a case of sometime "late May" or "Early June" ?

Sky Press Release

Sorry to disappoint, but it seems like we'll be waiting until late summer, possibly even September.

The only indication I can see of timescale in that article is "later this year"?

9.45am: Sky News has hired former GMTV presenter Eamonn Holmes to present its breakfast show, Sunrise, with Lorna Dunkley when the channel relaunches later this year. More soon...

My goodness...

I pity the execs at BSkyB who are going to have to deal with him over the next few years.

I take it this means Sunrise will become a less-news-more-features show, then.

Here's a thought: with GMTV wanting to axe Phillips too, and her being an old Sky News hand, I wonder what scope there might be for her to return to the marshlands of Osterley. Doubt it, somehow.

He did say in the Guardian recently that he wanted a more hard news approach to things at GMTV.

Will he continue to present the Jetset, though? Can't imagine Sky would be too happy about that.
