Certainly looks real enough to me. Click here for a little example of how the graphics work.

(How odd, it posted this twice but when I deleted one of them it deleted both.)

I generally like Sky News. Sometimes a bit 'lighter' on content than BBC, but generally easier to watch - good for background viewing I think.

However, their Live at Five headline sequence today looked pretty poor on screen and the first thing they cut to was a rather dire countdown clock:

Hope they drop this pretty fast. I'm really looking forward to the new studio and graphics - hope they're slightly more understated.

What do you mean 'hope they drop this pretty fast'?

It has only got 14 hours to go, for christ's sake, I think you should be just about able to cope with that.

then we'll have the countdown to the polls closing.

Anyone have problems with Sky News on Freeview?

Adverts just played out fine. I'm guessing a gallery/mixing desk problem.

It's not a question of 'coping' - of course I can cope. I was just expressing my opinion. As a top of the hour 'top story' graphic, I don't think it's very effective. I'm here because I'm interested in TV presentation and style. I don't think this looks very slick, coming out of a very nice title sequence (which I think is nicer than N24's). I think they could find something more effective to show.

I don't really like your aggressive tone. I like to keep an open mind and actively flick between all different news channels, and think they all have strengths and weaknesses. I just so happened to think this is a bit poor in this instance. I don't feel the need to actively constantly defend or criticise one broadcaster over another.

Phew, thought it was just my TV.

I was a bit worried - shelled out last week to get a new aerial installed....thought I'd been had by the repair man.... Wink
