"Jamie's programme, the only daily show anywhere on mainstream UK television devoted to world news"
Guardian artivle quote from Nick Pollard... Is he forgetting "The World" on BBC Four and BBC World then? Or is that not "devoted" to World News?
Interesting article - and pointedly aimed at News 24 who have "two anchors at a desk" for most of their output and are likely to remain with this format unless they knee-jerk a response to Sky and suddenly send a steadicam running around the newsroom (or a wobbly hand-held as per the election)
As for the disappearing Dogs and Active streams - I would imagine there is a whole lot of switching going on, as well as application updating. I'd be surprised if things like the Dog didn't disappear briefly now and again.

Just to note, I don't know how reliable this is but I've just read in the DigitalSpy forums that there will be a countdown that's a wide shot of the studio with the Sky News logo in the middle. The guy says he did some work installing stuff, although I'm not convinced it's a countdown, maybe it's just the end of the titles.

A fairly elaborate look at it all including music. May have been mentioned already...
