That makes more sense. That's where it came from last time, and the temp studio they use from time to time.

I would've been really surprised if it had come from the new studios... I just don't think they'd have risked it. But is studio 7 w/s capable? I still think the graphics look like they've been designed with 16:9 in mind.

They've been showing a preview of the set and graphics today, they certainly look widescreen friendly. Is studio 7 where RI:SE came from? That was widescreen I seem to remember.

I don't think RI:SE came from Osterley, i know the last few months didn't.
Monday Night Football comes from studio 7, which does broadcast in W/S.

I'm certain the original Rise came from Osterley. I think it may have been studio 7, but not 100% sure on that.

Studio 7 was where they came from during summer 2001, when they were rebuilding studio 2.

As Dixon is starting Sunrise from June, and the new prime time guy is coming then as well, is it safe to assume a June relaunch? We've had god knows how many speculative dates now.

In an exclusive new documentary for Sky One, Sky News anchor Kay Burley takes a wry look at the scandals that have reverberated around Westminster Village – the politicians that have fallen from grace and the women that helped them on their way.

Adam is also apart of the program.

I assume cat is referring to the former Granada executive who has been hired to get more exclusives for Sky.

Can't say I'll be watching it given (a) the publicity pics and (b) the liberal use of words such as 'light-hearted' and 'romp' in the press release.

Sky News VOTE 05 programme airs at 2100 on Thursday 5 May. VOTE 05 will be anchored by Julie Etchingham - the first time a woman has anchored a British General Election show - and Adam Boulton, Sky News' Political Editor from a new, purpose-built studio.

At 0005 Five will simulcast VOTE 05 until 0600, giving Sky News its first terrestrial platform on an election night.

Sky News Active will offer digital viewers the chance to watch 16 different screens. A 'Constituency Picker' will give them their local constituency result at the press of the red button - again, a first in electoral TV history.

Expert comment will provided by Sky's psephologist Professor Michael Thrasher from Plymouth University. He has accurately forecast the outcome of the last three elections. Veteran political observer Michael Brunson will also be hand to provide comment and analysis.

Latest technology:
Within 90 seconds of tuning to Sky News on Election Night, the viewer will be up-to-date with a snapshot of the poll at that point. A 'vidiprinter' style display will show the most recent results. Constantly updated side panels will run through the state of the parties, regional breakdowns, gains and losses. In addition to taking the standard results feed from PA, key declarations will be covered live, with voting figures entered in real time - crunched - as they are announced. As always, state-of-the art virtual sets will showcase Sky News' reputation for telling the story in a clear and accessible way.

I really like the look of that Election studio - it looks great. I can't imagine SKY¦News using widescreen just for one night for their election coverage

BUT

it would make better use of the screen rather than opting for a SKY¦Sports News small screen with loads of info. But then I suppose everything would have to be 4 x 3 safe and so they wouldnt actually gain any area to plonk the onscreen graphics in!

I wonder if the studio is real or virtual? I can see a reflection in that piece of glass but that doesnt mean anything this day and age since ITV's Theatre of News studio!
