I noticed today during the Kay report on the new look, that on one of the screens, they had an image of the ticker bar along the bottom of the screen with the light blue area on the right of the bar, rather than on the left, above the clock, where it appears in all press shots of the correspondants. Do you this means that this sort of light blue area at the top of the bar will slowly move across the bar constantly? This would look really nice, although I can imagine many people in this forum finding it annoying. If it did move then I suppose it will be of a similar speed to the BBC globe etc.

I am interested to see what develops tomorrow. Is it true that when they last re-launched they dropped some graphics within the hour? I wonder if anything similar will happen tomorrow.


I went through my video of the report with a fine-tooth comb and it does look like the blue light moves across the ticker from left to right, not all that slowly either, which could be annoying. But we'll see.

No, it was more like 4-9 months, rather than a week. It was just a slight variation, without the twinkles the first opening had.... it brought out the drums more in the bed....

I quite like the 'plain' look on the 'Sunrise' logo.


The wall at the back of the presenters, reflects what is on the newswall. If you look, it is still reflecting the new logo, so maybe that sunrise picture was just added in? Or is it just me?

If you take a look at the same picture but with the new logo on the newswall you can EASILY see that both Eamon & Lorna are in the same position, the Sunrise logo has just been pasted onto the picture.

Just spotted this article on the Sky News website, which has that Sunrise logo, so it looks like it is the genuine thing (even if it was mocked up), unless it is a "holding logo" because the actual one to be used on-air wasn't ready.

Yes, absolutely.

At the last relaunch in 2001 there were a series of changes in the space of just a few hours, and some stings and graphics appeared for 30 minutes and then vanished into the ether, never to be seen again.

I'd be a bit surprised if that happened this time - given the amount of preparation they've done for this - but there are bound to be a few things that they realise are just a bit too cumbersome and ditch.

No, From what I've seen thats how the logos are going to look, thats taken from the World News Tonight one and Sunrise.

It's going to be exactly like the Sky Sports Infobar which animates in a similar fashion.
