Sky News Thread - Relaunch on Monday

I think the white outlines and blue boxes are here to stay, just not on the straps.

Kay Burley's report yesterday - which would only have been filmed on Friday, most likely - showed blue box programme titles, and all the promotional stuff has too.

I think they look quite good. Simple and effective, yet distinctive too.

Am I the only one who thinks the music featured on the RFTS new Sky News studio site, is actually for the breaks on Sky News International? It just seems too drawn out and not pacy enough for an intro. We'll find out soon though.

It was said here that the music was done by an orchestra (sp?), the music on the virtual newsroom sounds nothing like that!

I think the music on RFTS will be maybe Headline Music OR Coming Up

I was hoping for completely new fresh music.

I like the current music as it is!

So here it is then, the final day of the set, looks very quiet behind the presenters.

I may have missed this information and if i have im sorry but have a question about the camera's.

I was under the impression all the cameras would be moved to the new news centre by the time of the move, Does this mean they will be removing the remaining cameras tonight and the overnight bulletin will be from the newswall?

Or do they have enough cameras at the all singing all dancing new studio!!.

I caught the Kay Burley report for the first time today, surprised to hear her say, 'We want to keep some of this underwraps' when we have seen most of the new studio already!

I noticed today during the Kay report on the new look, that on one of the screens, they had an image of the ticker bar along the bottom of the screen with the light blue area on the right of the bar, rather than on the left, above the clock, where it appears in all press shots of the correspondants. Do you this means that this sort of light blue area at the top of the bar will slowly move across the bar constantly? This would look really nice, although I can imagine many people in this forum finding it annoying. If it did move then I suppose it will be of a similar speed to the BBC globe etc.

I am interested to see what develops tomorrow. Is it true that when they last re-launched they dropped some graphics within the hour? I wonder if anything similar will happen tomorrow.

I remember when they relaunched in 2003 they changed their music after a week, it was practically identical to the one we have now, except the first part. I can't really describe it but it sounded alot better than the first part they have now!
