Just wondering, the Sky News election studio, that was in the new building right? Is that going to be used for anything or was it "purpose built" so to speak?

I heard somewhere it was a Sky Sports studio, but I don't know for sure.

Yep, It was Studio 7 - Martin's Election stuff was shot in Studio B which is in the new complex...

FYI, the main studio is studio A, Studio B is a CSO set, Studio C is Five News and studio D is for signing..

MSIM DO YOU THINK I AM THICK ?

I dont have sky or ntl or freeview if i did i would be watching it....Thats why so think before you say next time

Im really not going to get into that (make of that what you will), but what I will say is what is anyone to assume when someone has 'sky news 6am Oct24th' in their signature? The reason I posted was because you asked THREE times in the space of a couple of hours for a clip, which I would consider spamming the forum. Since youve now revealed you have no capability to watch the relaunch of a channel youre so excited by, then god help us on Monday when no doubt we'll see umpteen requests for the same clips from you Rolling Eyes

Well I had a weird dream last night. In it is was watching Sky News, which had just relaunched, yet it had turned into something like Ministry of Mayhem with gunge flying everywhere and the like. I wonder if it was accurate? Confused

As posted in the requests thread; for those who want to see the relaunch package as there's been a few requests for it.

I in the requests forum posted:
Here it is - I apologise for it being in the bastárdly Real format but I have nothing else to encode with. EIther that or it's a 100MB MPEG.

Download here (9Mb Real)

Other formats can be provided upon request.

*cue server falling over due to the amount of people downloading*

Also, does anyone know what the name two pieces of music that are used in the package? The 1st one sounds like some 80s hit goes, #cos you're right on time, right on time...#. Audio clip

The second one is a piece of music used in the backround of the video clips montage. Audio clip

Would be great if someone could put an name and title to the clips. Thanks. Smile

First one is Ride On Time - Blackbox. (NOT Right on time...common mistake)

Second one is Breathe Me - Sia.

Just seen the Kay Burley Sky News relaunch package on Sky News. Interesting that they managed to get the aspect ratio of the behind the scenes shots wrong - and impressively so. The backstage stuff at the very end looked to be 4:3 material treated as 16:9, so when converted to 4:3 for the current Sky News it was short and fat.

Also interesting that their monitor stack is entirely projected (as is the vogue these days) Very flexible, but annoying if you are judging lipsync as there can be as much as 5 fields (or is it frames) of delay introduced by the monitor system. Everywhere I know that has introduced this system into production studios has had to provide some CRT or LCD switched preview monitors to allow stuff to be monitored properly.

I quite like the 'plain' look on the 'Sunrise' logo.
