I have no doubt that Eamonn will be excellent, in my opinion he is ideal for Sunrise. He may have come across as cocky in the interview that was posted here but when he ws on Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon, he was extremely likeable. In my mind he is very much suited to Sky News - serious when need be, confident, but most of all he's upbeat and cheerful.
Hopefully Ginny will have improved - she's probably had loads of rehearsals in the new studio so shouldn't be the lost lamb that she looked like when she has been on in the last few weeks. Time will tell I suppose, although I can see her going down the route of Emma Crosby and being shunted off to weekends after a bit.
I still want to know where Allan King fits into all this

You may be right, but I'll reserve judgement until the 1st serious piece of breaking news comes in during sunrise - then we will see what he is made of!

Surely he's covered breaking news on GMTV. I've never watched GMTV and so I've no idea what sort of things they cover, but don't they do news? Wasn't he presenting on the morning of September 12th 2001 - surely the main thing they'd have been covering would have been the turr attacks?

Possibly, but I'm with you I have never watched GMTV so I don't know how or if they can handle immediate breaking news. I can't see them stopping halfway through an item on who shagging who in Holywood to deliver a piece of breaking news. We'll just have to wait and see - guess he's got Lorna to bail him out...

You can clearly see the squares that make up the newswall in some of the publicity shots, whether these will be visable on screen is yet to be seen. However, it's odd that you can't see similar "joins" on the screen Barco provided for the London Stock Exchange (although I admit it is significantly smaller!)

I must say the new set has grown on me alot over night - I especially love that new newswall and the fact it doesn't have any dividing lines or anything to distort the images put on it..

BBC News:
Satellite channel Sky News is to be given new graphics and 3D weather maps as part of a revamp.
The relaunch, due to take place on Monday, includes a revised programme schedule and a studio more than twice the size of the current one.
Former GMTV host Eamonn Holmes will make his debut as the breakfast show presenter and Tony Blair is to give an exclusive evening interview.
Sky hopes the revamp will broaden the news channel's appeal.
Rather than a rolling news service, the channel will now be divided up into dedicated shows, such as a lunchtime programme looking at major human interest stories, hosted by Kay Burley.
'Fresh appeal'
Sky says it will break into this "appointment to view" service to deliver major news updates.
The studio's "newswall" background screen will be double the size of its previous model, while the interactive Sky News Active service has been given a new look.
Nick Pollard, head of Sky News, said: "We are committed to developing the service we offer to viewers and these changes will seek to broaden our appeal while cementing our position as the most innovative force in news television."
