I like the new set, it was worth certainly worth waiting for and cannot wait to see it live.

Nice to see Jon Desborough back on Sky News as well, Im looking forward to see what Sky News Today is like with three presenters

Yeah, how will that work? Presumably the programme will open with two presenters standing somewhere in the newsroom with the third ready at the newswall.

Yeah, I would have expected to see some promos by now.

Martin, I wondered why Joan Rivers was in the new set as well as the old one too, seemed a bit weired.

Something to do with the parallel running/rehearsals that must be going on at the moment?

Am I right in thinking, that the screens in the gallery, and possibly the newswall and desk screens, were provided by Barco, who are responsible for the London Stock Exchange screens...

I spoke to Barco at the IBC where they were showing a new system for matrixing video inputs. Multiple video signals could be configured to display on any part of the display screen.

Very nice too.

Nobody really works in Studio 2 anymore - there's a good chance that Michelle Clifford pieced her package together in Studio A and just wanted a short grab of Joan.

I think one of the most interesting features of the relaunch will be the way in which - a few months in - the presenters are treated.

For instance, a few years ago an interview with the Prime Minister would always have been done with Adam Boulton. No exceptions. More recently, we've seen Julie Etchingham doing it, and on Monday James Rubin gets the gig.

You can't help but feel that this takes something away from the channel. The old Sky argument used to be ''unlike the BBC or ITN, we don't have to worry about whether to hold back an interview until a prime time show. We don't need to decide whether to pursue a story on either Newsnight or put it on the Six O'clock News instead, we can run it at any time of the day without compromising our other programming''. That's no longer the case.

It'll be interesting to see if Rubin or Holmes are sent out on location over Jeremy Thompson, Martin Stanford, Adam Boulton, etc.

It's also worrying that a fair few of them are untested... Ginny Buckley we know is awful; Eammon Holmes might think he ''can do Sky'' but he thinks he can do a lot of things; and Rubin has presented before but I think the American drone accent might get to me after a while. Gillian Joseph, well, I'm still baffled by that snatch.

Do you think we will see a promo or a report on the new look Sky News today or at least over the weekend? We all know about the new line up etc but how is the casual viewer, who they are trying to attract going to know?
