Saturday Live
with Martin Stanford
1000 – 1200

Each Saturday Martin Stanford anchors a two-hour magazine programme with news bulletins on the hour and half hour. The show covers sport, news, showbiz, politics and technology.

Basically a similar 4 items an hour format to ITV's Live with John Nicolson.

Interesting bits from Mediaguardian:

Quote:
The set features eight presentation points, more than the old news studio, including a mezzanine level looking like an al fresco cafe, where the morning newspapers are reviewed, and a round white desk on the left hand side of the news wall, nicknamed "the pulpit".

Quote:
Floor to ceiling light pillars - known as fins - and stationed to the right of the news wall, change colour to reflect the time of day. The fins will be orange in the morning, moving on to yellow during the daytime and turning blue/purple in the evening.

There is an interactive tour of the newsroom with a mock disater story produced for Reach For The Sky available here. Perhaps the intro music used on the site is that of the new toth ident?

Oh, now that music's good! Seems likely that it's from the new look. The wide shot of the studio looks great too.

Interesting to see the strap (recreation) at the bottom of the screen with the bit of globe on the left-hand side, as previously described by someone.

Getting more excited about this now.

What's the screen to the right of the desk? Will the weather come from here or is this just for presenters to see stuff?

Hmmm, not sure about orange & yellow. I said earlier that I liked the reds, blues and purples. Add more colours and it becomes a mess.

Very good. A huge improvement on the mess of a website they have at the moment.

Weather most probably, but remember the desk will rotate so it could also act as an alternate background screen.

I assume this is what's meant by the pulpit:

Also it seems the green screen IS to be used for weather presentations.

Where is everyone getting these images from?

Can't help feeling that shot makes the newswall look a bit like ITV's Theatre Of News... except good.

I am liking the strap recreation on the site, it looks like glass with the fade out and the visible beveled edges.

I also imagine if that globe does feature on the straps on-air, that it will be animated.

I think I'm starting to realise thwo whole "outline" theme of the graphics. The logo is outlined, the video feeds on the newswall uses white outlines, the glassy bevels on the straps have outlines. Overall It is looking alot better than the images I received a few days back.
