The newspaper review on Sky News Tonight certainly sounds interesting.

Live link ups with newspaper offices around the UK? I know the News International papers (Sun/NOTW/Times/Sunday Times) the Telegraph, and the FT all have uplinks in their offices, but not sure about the others. Will be interesting to see if they send out a camera team to the other newspaper offices. The 11pm show actually doesn't sound half bad.

So is this the end of seeing the regular guest reviewers such as Topaz Ammore and Al Scardino?

For those who missed seeing the image on that GB Serve site showing a much wider shot of the studio, here it is:

No, I wouldn't have thought so. I think they're just going to have more of them... so Scardino and someone from the Times and someone from the Mail, for instance. It sounds like they're going to have a few people reviewing the papers each night, but I'm assuming that it'll still vary.

That image seems to have been taken from ''Burley's Balcony''.

What it still doesn't show is that there is a whole area to the left and to the right and below of more desks and production people.

Looks very well polished, but of course there are only a couple of cameras, jibs, wires, people, etc in that shot. When there are more it might not look quite so tidy!

Well it all looks interesting enough. Have just seen a report on Sky News showing an interview with Hazel Blears. It looked like she was in some form of atrium. Is this part of the new Sky News Centre? If you compare it to the picture of Jonathan Healy, it looks remarkably similar...!

Here's the verdict from couch_potato.

I have to say that I am extremely pleased with Sky News' new look overall. The studio looks fantastic - spacious, modern and fresh. I think the new schedule line-up is really good too. Anna Jones has settled into Sky News very well and will work brilliantly with Martin and Anna B. Dame Kay finally gets her own show and I like the idea that Sky News Today will air for a second time throughout the afternoon. Julie's show will certainly be interesting but I can't wait for James Rubin's new show. I'm sure he will be a presenter of great skill and I think the fact that Tony Blair will guest on the show on the day of Sky News' relaunch will finish the day off nicely. I'm not too sure however about Chris Roberts and Gillian Joseph - personally I would have preferred Emma Crosby and Martin Popplewell. I think it's a shame also that we are saying farewell to Viv, Sheila and Paula - 3 extremely good newsreaders. I wonder if the BBC or anyone news channels will snap them up in the not so distant future? I could see Sheila on News 24.
I can't wait for the relaunch on Monday and I'm intrigued by the look of the graphics. The day will kick off superbly with Eamonn!
