Also from Sky's press office:

"From Monday you can see more of the Sky News Centre at sky.com/virtualnewsroom"

Sounds interesting.

Don't like the way the logo is distorted in that angle.

Could have just been taken as they were testing out the screen?

Personally, I dont even think that logo is really there, just added to the photo. It looks horrible.

This looks stunning, reminds me of the BBC election studio this year.

The red things look a bit weird but on closer inspection they're reflections of the newswall so it probably won't look the same on-screen.

Obviously wait until Monday to see how it looks on screen, but comparing like-with-like, I prefer the blue boxes Martin did a few pages back.

Agreed. The new on screen gfx seems rather uninspired from what we can see... although it'll be interesting to see what they look like on screen and how they animate (assuming they do). There'll also no doubt be more to them than that, including Breaking News straps, and wasn't there talk of some kind of spinning box promoting the next story?

The studio looks quite nice, although possibly not as grand and dramatic as I was expecting. Again though, we'll no doubt get to see more on Monday. I've no doubt there will still be plenty of surprises to come.

There's a farily decent view of the studio at the bottom of http://www.gbserve.com/news/sky (by the look of it it's a screenshot from the website newsroom tour)

EDIT: They seem to have removed it now.

And while the distinctive and frequently imitated ‘lower-third strap’ will remain, it has been developed by the channel’s in-house team to offer greater flexibility....The newsroom itself seats 70 journalists, has eight presentation points, is equipped with 12 cameras, two jimmy jibs and – for the first time – Sky News has a separate studio (Studio B).

So a flexible strap, EIGHT presentation points around the studio, and a separate studio, maybe for full virtual reality graphics?

Looks very nice in that shot!

Note the stairs to the balcony in the foreground. It also gives a good impression of the size of the news-wall.

Initial impressions purely from images posted:

Like...

Arrow Use of blues, reds, purples and white
Arrow Logo
Arrow Screen on front of desk (I think)
Arrow 'Blades' which reflect news wall

Don't like...

Arrow Use of wood on desk
Arrow Astons
Arrow Looks a lot smaller than expected

Would agree with that.

As a point of reference, it looks a THOUSAND times better in the publicity shots than it does in the blurry photos I've seen, which is good news!

Moz, as for it being small, well yes it is smaller than I'd expected (and nothing whatsoever like the artist's impression!) but remember there is another side that we've not seen. If you're sitting at the desk and looking to the right, there's a staircase, balcony area, and more desks and people sitting around. Facing the desk on the other side of the newsroom there's a sort of glass box meeting room/office area with more desks... it's bigger than the publicity shots give away, basically.

Either way, it's a relief that it looks better there than it did in the other photos!

Not massively keen on the astons, but they're simple and better than those vile blue rectangles.
