Yes, I am 15 years old, but my age shouldn't be a valid reason for my views. I am inclined to support the underdog, alas I have admiration for Kay Burley.

You mean "ergo", not "alas".

You should look up words you don't really understand. You don't want people to think you're foolish, do you?

You just hate the fact I'm not a typical teenager and don't use "txt spk". I actually hate this concept. I like to be adventurous with my vocabulary and I might not use it in the right format but better learning than regretting, "innit"?

I actually am very passionate about TV but because of my age, people on this forum are using this as a device against me. But I shall still post. I won't be pushed out.

I've only been here bearly a week, give me a chance?

In other happenings, I watched Sunrise for the first time this morning. Very different feel than to BBC Breakfast and GMTV. Less serious than Breakfast but still a rather bland programme. Charlotte Hawkins is an inconvenient spare part. She'd be better solo.

On the contrary I love a person (especially a young person) demonstrating a wide and rich vocabulary. More power to you.

But, as some gentle advice, look up those words you plan to use - just to be sure you're on the money.

Text speak is frowned upon by most here, myself included.

It makes me puke - figuratively speaking (not metaphorically).

See what I mean?

I do see where you're coming from.

But people on this forum are now getting really nasty. For eg. In reply to my post on the "Daybreak" thread someone proceeded o write as part of their reply "Does Barry George have a son?"

Do people feel inclined to bully me because of my age?

Thanks for your kind words. But "the phrase" shall stay.

Everyone stop talking about this and get back to discussing television presentation. Otherwise save it for Metropol, the home of lifeless and arbitrary topics.

Could you expand upon this a little? After all, this is a forum to discuss all aspects of television presentation but you haven't made any attempt to explain why you have come to these conclusions. If you are serious about posting opinions on here, then I suggest that you avoid making sweeping comments and/or generalisations and be far more specific. Why do you think that Sunrise is less serious than Breakfast? Would it not be be better to say that Sunrise is less serious than Breakfast but more so than GMTV? Equally, why is Charlotte Hawkins just 'an inconvenient spare part'? Given that Sky News adopts this presentation format throughout its dayside programming, does that mean that you think that Samantha Simmonds is 'an inconvenient spare part'? Or Gillian Joseph? You haven't offered any justification for your position. Perhaps if you were to do so your comments on here might be received in a more welcoming manner.

Dan, if that's your name, just realise that when people know your actual age and you're that young, but posting like most of us, people will judge you.

Look, I really don't want to push the "age issue" any further. It'll be a long process. I just want to post my opinions.

As I said, I was a first-time viewer for Sunrise this week. The feel and attitude of the show was very different than rivals BBC Breakfast and GMTV. The show has seemed to achieve the happy medium between these shows. (Not too serious but not too lightweight) However, In my opinion the resultant is very bland. The set is very sim,ple yet very uninspiring. I guess Sky News wanted to focus on content rather than the look of the show. The music is too much for a morning show. Something a bit more mellow would suit. Eamonn is a very capable host, reliable. However, I don't get the idea of the "Dolly Girls" consisting of Charlotte Hawkins and Lucy Verasamy who join him on the sofa to give it more of a "discussion feel". Charlotte Hawkins should present new bulletins from a different area in Sky Centre or just go solo in a different slot. Lucy's off to Daybreak anyway but I find it a bit odd Eamonn would want to know her opinion on David Cameron's latest scheme. The "discussion" idea is relatively new for British Breakfast TV but I'm not too sure Sky is utilising it in the right format.

A efficient alternative to BBC Breakfast and GMTV, but I am inclined to want to wake up happy in the morning thus I'm a GMTV viewer (hides in shame). It'll be interesting to see how Daybreak shakes up the Breakfast market on TV.

First of all - that's a far better post and you should receive some kinder (and more constructive) comments because of it. You've engaged with the topic and your own ideas much more clearly. It's interesting that you find the set simple and uninspiring; it's the breakfast show on a rolling news channel and I'm not sure that there is much that could be done to improve it yet retain the 'feel' of a rolling news station. If you look at the breakfast shows on MSNBC or CNN, they broadcast from within the newsroom setting also. I'm not sure about your comments regarding the 'discussion' element of the programme. To my mind, it's not a new invention and the news stories of the day were discussed regularly by the presenters on Breakfast Time and TV-AM during the 80s and 90s. In fact, it is still a feature of GMTV and, in all likelihood, will become a greater feature when Daybreak begins broadcasting.

Just saw on Twitter that Sam Matterface has said he’ll be doing a few shifts on Sky News before he leaves Sky next week. I guess this is a part of the reshuffle of sports presenters and SSN faces will appear on Sky News more. I’ve been away so has this all started already?

Further to my last post, the Sky News Press Office site now lists Nick Powell as Sports Editor. Presumably a further part of the changes to sports coverage. I guess we'll see some changes when Sky Sports News HD kicks off on Monday.

Also the bulletins from Sky Sports News - I presume they won't be a SSN simulcast?

I'd presume there would be an area in the SSN studio for the sports bulletins, they certainly won't be simulcasted.

Yes, they don't use the balcony shot anymore, it's a CSO background. You can see what the new one will look like on this weeks Sky Sports News Plus Podcast.

They used to come from the Sky Sports Centre before 2005 anyway didn't they?
