Sky News: Presenters & Rotas

Tony Wrigthington from SSN. He left for a while in 2010 and returned to the fold a few months back.

With Jeremy Thompson in Syria, I've noticed Sky have generally covered the events there and in Libya more extensively than the BBC, which I wouldn't have expected. Is this the result of budget cuts or an editorial decision to focus more on National rather than International news?

if they now focus more on national news , then the most recent changes to axe all programm names and stop concentrating on the uk time , would have been senseless

my epg says that gillian joseph presents friday to sunday from seven to twelve o' clock I hope this is no indication that steve dixon quits

The EPG usually updates to indicate that Gillian is presenting an evening show. It doesn't if anyone else is covering the slot, but it does for her.

Yep, my one updated itself for her too, but it still says Stephen Dixon for next weekend. Funnily enough, I tried looking at skyprogrammeinformation.co.uk - and now it appears is 'press only'?! Mind you, my EPG says Kay Burley's on every weekday - yeah right!

but nevertheless annoying that in 70 percent of all cases the epg and the actual presenter don't match together. Today the same as last week, neither kay nor anna botting were presenting ther bulletins.

Since Sky have dumped the Afternoon Live etc format, why don't they just stop putting the presenters names on the daytime shows as well? If they want to move away from personalities completely then that's what they should do.

Or just update the EPG more often.

Another week passes and no sign of Kay Burley again, Anna Botting has been on Sky News 9-12 about 2 times in the last 3 weeks, No Colin Brazier today, Martin Stanford hardly ever seems to do his 2 hour update slot

Before it became just Sky News all day you knew roughly what time of day and day of the week presenters were going to be on, Now it just seems to be anyone at anytime

I know people have holidays but Kay in particular has hardly been on at all over the last month or even 2

Samantha Simmonds, Anna Jones & Lorna Dunkley seem to be doing everyone elses job at the moment

Is that such a terrible thing?
