Remarkable really to see JT reporting from the streets of Damascus. Quite a coup. I wonder what other organisations were allowed in?

Edit: I see CNN International are also broadcasting from the Syrian capital, fronted by Hala Gorani.

MG article on Western journalists beginning to return to Syria.

Mentions that JT has a 15 day visa and is in theory allowed to report freely but will obviously be closely monitored.

It sounds as though it's a similar system to the one that iss used in Tripoli.
Also, Jayne Secker is back from maternity leave tonight, on Sky News at Seven.

Live at five with Jeremy
Great to see Jeremy anchoring In Damascus. He is showing why he is a class above the rest, there's still life in the old dog! He really is the best on location. Have sky any correspondents in Syria? Dominic Waghorn said he was refused a visa.

From what I saw yesterday, the news organisations are only allowed into Damascus and are given tours around the city by Government minders, like in Tripoli. It sounds as though it's a very small team with Jeremy at the moment.

Arwa Damon has been filing from Damascus for the last three to four days, IIRC.

Watching Sky News for the first time in nine months. Ashish Joshi is the newscaster, I think. But who is the sports presenter alongside?

Probably a Sky Sports News presenter, since I think they do most of the weekend sports bulletins now.
